Went with Toyos and I'm lovin' them!

Hello all,
Just wanted to update some of you with my tire choice. A while back, I was asking for opinions on the Toyos and Kumhos.

I am lovin' the Toyos! I ordered them from Eastcoasttires.com. They are based out of N. Carolina. Excellent service! I ordered them on Tues and got them that Fri.

The tires are the Toyo Proxes 4 245/45/20.

I tried out the Avon Tech Tyres (good deal) and I had vibration issues in the front. We balanced them 2 more times and the vibration never went away. We figured out that the tires were actually out of round when we spun them. I'm not putting Avon Tyres down though....any tire company can occasionally have a batch of defective tires.

Anyways, I am happy with my Toyos and I highly recommend dealing with Eastcoasttires.com I paid $158.00 a piece.
Hope this helps anyone looking for a good deal and a good product.

Not much of a difference, but every little bit helps:

Same tire is $151.60 @ tires-easy.com (no, I'm not affiliated w/ them. I just happen to like passing along the best deals and this place seems to always have the best).

Glad to hear you like the Toyos! On the two out of round Avon's you had, how bad was the vibration? and was it only at certain speeds or all the time?

I made the same choice in tires having had prior experience with Toyos on my 350Z and my truck. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying yours!

I'm just waiting for the tire/wheel shop to call and say they are in so I can get the new wheels and tires mounted up (TIS 07's, 20" & Toyo Proxes 4). I got a horrible vibration from the set of aftermarket wheels and tires (GenX & Ventus - two brands I have NEVER heard of) that the dealer had put on the car before I even saw it.

Here's a thread on what was going on:

Oh Man! What the Dealer Did !!!

The dealer's associated shop just couldn't do anymore with the issue after three shots at fixing the problem. I thanked him, called the Sales Manager at the dealership this week and told him it was time to install the stockers and write that check.

They have the car today for the LoJack install, the 3M Clear Bra install and a transmission TSB reflash. They'll get the wheels and tires on as well.

The check almost covers my new wheels and tires!

In any event, here's a pic of the wheel I am going to:

Sez here, on the paperwork they gave me:

#21-002-07, Flash: Torque Converter Shudder / Shift Quality Improvements

Also sez this is for 07 cars but I complained about the shudder and they said they would flash the ECM. We'll see what the results are.

Thanks,

I been trying to get a dealer to flash my trans with the SRT 1 -2 shift hesitation. Other members have been able to get this done
#21-020-06 or # 18-031-05 but not around here.

NotYeta300cOwner,
The vibration started around 60 mph...and it was horrible! The vibration was like I was going over those "wake-up dummy" rumble strips cut into the side of highways! It continued up to 80. After that, I slowed down
