tire sensors in my 22"

my friend installed my tire sensors in my 22" tires a couple days ago at his shop . the old shop i used to go to said they wouldn't fit. true. but my friend has some adapters to make the sensor work. badda bing badda boom--they work. i tried to get him to sell them to everyone here, but he said he can't. sorry. i'll keep working on it. please post if you're interested. if he sees how many of us will buy them, maybe he'll change his mind. it is cool havng tpm system working again. also the balancing is perfect too. better then the old shop had done before.

Congrats on getting rid of the annoying chime. Curious though, did the first shop actually try installing the sensors into your new 22s? or did they just assume it wouldn't work on your 35 series tires? I watched my shop install the factory sensors into my 30 series tires w/ no problems (no adaptors or anything special required). Again, just curious as to what the reason was the first shop said it wouldn't work.

The important thing is...you got no annoying chime! hehe. Congrats!!!

edit: perhaps it was your wheel brand that was causing a problem?

I don't believe they can be turned off by the dealership. For the little expense and great peace of mind, I'd have them installed.

G'luck

Thumbs up

Has anyone had any luck fixing this issue yet? When I purchased my 22" rims I had factory sensors put in them with no problem they just dropped in. The problem is the car is pissing me off with the low tire display and chime.

A fix for this problem would be a great welcome.

Steve Austin

Night and day difference my friend. Night and day!!

Steve Austin: I know this is probably a stuipd question, but what pressure are you measuring at the wheels? How does it coorelate to the EVIC reading? If you have the factory sensors installed, I'm not sure why it'd be giving a false reading unless there was a leak of some sort - but I figured you would've know about it by now

Since I put the 22s on the car it tries to get a reading but the left rear always stays at 34 no matter what reading everything else says. After driving the car for awhile the other 3 signals stop and just the rear left says 34. It is very weird. I am running 34psi all the way around.

Normally I would not care but it does get on my nerves with the warning and the chime. I have to figure out how to make it go away . I really hope someone has a solution. I know the dealer can recal the system but the biggest rim in the dealer computer is a 20" rim.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Steve Austin
