Hello everyone. I would just like to ask everyone their opinion on what size rims I should get for my new car. They have stock 17" alloy rims on it right now and I am looking to replace them with some big chrome. Right now I am debating between 20" and 22" rims, but I don't want to sacrifice the driveability of the car (bumby roads etc. I want a smooth ride). What are your suggestions? As well, what should I use to protect these rims from getting stolen? 2 lock nuts on every wheel and the stock alarm system, or 2 lock nuts on every wheel and an aftermarket alarm system? Secondly, does anybody know of any good performance modules for this car? I know Jet has one that will have a 22 Horsepower gain and increased fuel efficiency for $250. Please, suggestions people!!!!!!!!!
Also, I would like to know how much the stock 17" wheels weigh, compared to the 20" and 22" wheels, as well as how much of a decrease in fuel efficiency im looking at by increasing the rims to this size. Thanks, I look forward to your response.
Well let's say I can afford it (at the moment my budget is $2400 Canadian), won't it rub the wheel well, and how bad will it affect my gas mileage? (significantly or minimally?)
A word of caution with locking lug nuts. They are useless if the thieves can get the wheel lock key from you. I made the mistake of trying to hide my wheel lock key at the bottom of my center console. All that did was slow them down for a few minutes when they were trying to take my wheels. Eventually they found it, after breaking the window, and I woke up to my car on cement blocks in the driveway.
I did a comparison between the stock Touring alloys on my 300 now, and some 20" I am looking at. Basically, your overall diameter is going to increase just slightly, and put your speedo off by like 1/3 a mph at 60. No big deal. Besides, these cars must have been designed around about a 20" wheel - why do you think that the SRT comes with them already. I have heard that anything over a 22" will not rub, or hit anything. 24" and bigger you are asking for trouble or lots of body mods. I have no idea about the weight, or the affect on mpg etc though.

They broke your window and the alarm didnt go of or wake you up or anything?
They knew what they were doing. They cut the shifter cable under the car and pushed it down the driveway (which is kind of long). I have sulfur lights illuminating the driveway but only up near the house. Then they broke out the rear window and climbed in without opening the doors at all. It didn't trigger the alarm. When they got out of the car the guy climbed back out of the same window without opening the door. They also wore gloves so fingerprints were useless. Found out last month that it was part of a wheel theft ring that had been going on for months in my city. They had hit about 6 or 7 other cars around the same time as mine.
nice roads 24"s 275 25 24 minor mod to front bolts
22's staggered more for performance i love my 22x9.5 and 22x11's but im on a srt
for a base model get what makes it look the best..most one piece wheels are going to be heavy anyways
Well this is because I didn't want the overbearing power and fuel consumption of a 5.7 or 6.1 Liter V8...as well, I got my car used, for cheap (around $19000 Canadian) and the cheapest 300 C was $3500 - $4000 more expensive...I figured for 4 grand I could buy some 20's or 22's, and install a few performance upgrades to bring her up to 300 hp, which is all I'm looking for...I just want a luxury car with a bit of kick to her (a bit more than the 250hp stock) without losing the fuel efficiency.
