To All Who Ride On Tis 22's

I ride on TIS 02 22 x 9.5 +18mm offset with pirelli 265/35/22 and have rubbing issues while turning in reverse. Just wondering if anybody else out there has the same issues. And if so what did you do to resolve the problem?

I have the TIS 03 rims and yes I have minor rubbing when reversing when cutting my wheel too far left or too far right. Other then that, I have no rubbing at all. If your getting some minor rubbing when your reversing I honestly don't see a big deal.

Interesting, I guess that a +15 offset is the way to go w/ 9.5" width and 265/35/22

I mean - like who cares - as long as the car looks kool. After all it's not like puttin big heavy wheels and itsy - bitsy profile 22's rubbing on the metal is gonna matter one bit when you're blastin' down the freeway with your ride filled with your closest friends and family. You're gonna turn everyone's head - with that whip.

And so what if the brakes can't handle the weight - or the tire - like - blows out, man - you can handle it - right???

Don't sweat a little rubber rubbin on metal - cause -

you da man!

So does this apply to only the TIS wheels or all 22x9.5 +18mm wheels running 265/35/22 tires? I am just about ready to order my Cartelli 22x9.5's with a +18mm offset. Should I be looking at getting a +15mm offset instead? I do not want the tire rubbing at all, but I also do not want the wheel sticking out past the fender. Any opinions?

Where are you rubbing ? If you turn your wheel all the way to the left or right, check to see if you can see any spots that are clean, or look different than the rest of the inner fender liner. If there is a spot that is cleaner, or looks like it has been rubbed, dismount the front wheels and get ready to do a minor mod.

Once the wheel is taken off, take a heat gun to the clean spot and heat the area for approx 2-3 minutes. After it has had sufficient time to heat up take a rubber mallet, or equivalent and tap the area out. This will cause that are to form away from the wheel and tire and should take care of the rubbing issue when reversing.

**** This is for the inner fender lining only ******

GOOD LUCK

FYI, the lower the number (offset) the farther out the wheel will stick out.

Yea I know that, but I have heard some say that +15mm sits flush, and others say +15mm sticks out past the fender and +18mm sits flush. But my main concern is if my +18mm offset wheels will rub when turning (even in reverse). Thats why I want to know if it is just the TIS wheels that are rubbing or ALL 22x9.5's with a +18mm offset running 265/35/22 tires.

The inside of my tire(pirelli 265/35/22) rubs on the inside of the control arm. The dealer I purchased my wheels and tires form sent me 3mm spacers, but I think I am going to shave the control arm a couple mm like aspen dog.

Wow Northern Rider it sure is nice to have you back with all your positive feedback and wonderful sarcasm. It's pretty clear where you sit in regards to 22" rims and lowering of the 300c. If that isn't your thing great, but keep the comments to yourself. Like Mom used to say if you don't have something nice to say don't say it.
