I did a little studying on TPM systems and it is amazing to me that they work at all. Each wheel has a sensor, transmitter, and battery. Spin that at several hundred rpm and bounce the **** out it. Now, what could possibly go wrong. Then there is the receiver in the car. Also, the devices in the wheels could have been damaged when you changed wheels. Do you know if they used your existing sensors or installed new ones. I am sorry to hear that you are having problems, but it doesn't surprise me. It might be a pretty hard thing to find. Electrical problems can drive you crazy.

I agree that TPM is not needed by people that have some mechanical aptitude and maintain their own vehicle. I had wondered what the computer would do if you removed the sensors in each wheel and now we know. I guess the light will stay on forever.

I was going to ask the obvious. Did you check the tire pressure, but...

If you didnt install the TPMS sensors in your new wheels then your system computer has been looking for them. After a time is gives up looking and the system defaults to "warning light on".

Each of your sensors is a small radio transmitter. It lays dormant (park mode) when the car is at rest. The sensor then wakes up when the car travels at 15mph. If the car comes to rest for 20 minutes or more the sensors shut down again to park mode. This saves on the batteries.

If the pressure exceeds the high or low limits of the pressure threshold, the sensor sends a signal to the system reciever and your warning indicator illuminates.

If a system fault occurs the indicator light will flash on/off for 60 seconds, once every 10 minutes.

Sometimes sensors that may be on someone else's take-offs (Chrysler Canada) may not work with your system.
Hope this helps everyone.

I have the same problem with mines as of today, I do have the sensors installed on my new rims 20's I have had this issue for the last 6 months. I did read I could take it to a authorize dealer and have them recalibrate the reciever to to read the new lows or highs of the aftermarket wheel setup. I'm running on 275/40/20. the max psi listed on the tire are 50psi, does anyone know what the recomended tire pressure should be. I'm running at 41psi right now. Any suggestions ?
