Fear of Replica's

UmmmkaY,

the word replica means

1.a copy or reproduction of a work of art produced by the maker of the original or under his or her supervision. 2.any close or exact copy or reproduction.

and that freaks me out coz its not original and i dont know how reliable it could be .. that magnum with the viper set is just amazing and extremely mean looking... the charger srt 22's replica's are amazing too but are they reliable or what , the quality of material used or how tough are they built etc etc ...

other brands like sevas were promised to be built to perfection ( 1 pc ) but we all saw what happend to them in other threads ..!!!!

i know that this could happen to any wheel but i dont know about replica's i never had a set and i dont know what capability they contain ..

SO infoo would be helpfull

Mad props

The replicas are made by verde, which is a reputable wheel company. I wouldn't worry about them cracking.

Be very careful of replicas and many brands of aftermarket wheels, especially if they are one piece casts.

Most are coming out of Chinese foundries and can be very heavy, have flaws and imperfections that are covered up with chrome. Some have been branded with designer names and are being sold at very spendy prices.

Research the background carefully. The best wheels come out of factories in US, Europe or Japan. Weight is often a dead giveaway. If the wheel weighs over 35 lbs, stay away from it.

2 and 3 piece forged are generally very light and strong but can get pricey.

I would never buy 22" cast. They are just too heavy.
Just my opinion.

Cast does not matter. 99% of wheels, including your oem ones are cast. Being cast does increase the weight of the wheel compared to a multi-piece wheel, but it does not make them unsafe.

Not at all. The 18" OEM wheels on the 300C weigh in at around 25 lbs and are very strong. Excellent quality.

The 20" on the SRT8 are cast as well and i believe weigh in at about 30 lbs.
