Need some guidance...

Okay guys, here is my dilemma and who better to ask than you guys. I have a 06 300 SRT8, BUT my front tires are shot, they are horrible. I noticed today that on the front driver, the steel belt is starting to show.

My problem is this, I want to buy new wheels in the spring, maybe 22". This all depends on what the marital bank says, she likes the 20" and says they are good enough, but I want bigger!!! I really do not plan on driving too much during the winter, but I will need to drive it some times. So I have two choices for this winter.

1. buy a new set of wheels and tires for winter, maybe 18" setup like people have been suggesting. Then buy new performance tires for the car in the spring and keep the 20". Cost of new winter wheel package is $1800.00 and new tires in the spring so another $1400.00!!!

2. buy a set of reasonable all seasons for the 20", I can get the Kumho Escta ASX for $980.00, then start hiding money and have a long drawn out battle with the wife in the spring, face the dog house and definitely celebacy for about 6 months but get a nice new set of shiny 22" wheels.

Oh there is a third option, but not to pleasing, just buy all seasons for the 20", the same Kumho's and drive the car and have a happy home life, with okay tires on okay wheels......blah......

Any opinions or other suggestions...

$1800.00
-980.00
=$920.00 saved now.

$1400.00(gonna have to get new tires in spring anyways, right?)
+ 920.00= $2320.00

Take that $2320.00 and put it towards the 22's of your choice

What he said. And it's what I'm doing in a month.

Damn! I'm glad I'm not married. You're joking, right? You are not asking the wife if it's cool to put 22" on the car, right? Just slap them bad boys on there.

Someday you'll understand...

But I suppose if you never change your attitude you won't have to worry about it.

I hear ya. I'm getting mine for our 5 year anniversary. She wanted to get me a watch....more sentimental she said. I said I'd use the wheels more than the watch.

Understand what? Change my attitude? You don't even know me.

To the guy who asked for guidance, good luck with whatever you choose.

Don't take my comment the wrong way. I just believe in doing things once. If you want 22", save time, money, headaches, etc..and get the wheels. If your wife really wants you to be happy she wont put up a fight.

I also believe in doing things once, but when you have a partner to consider who does not have the same passions as you, sometimes compromises have to be made.

I think I am going to get the tires for the 20" - $980 and bite the bullet in the spring and 22". Thanks for all the advice.
