Dropstar (DS02) wheels and winter weather?

I have a set of 22" Dropstar DS02's on my ride with Falken ZIEK S/TZ-04 tires... I still have my original 18" wheels, but was thinking of selling them... Would it be a good idea to swap them out for the winter or doesn't it really matter? Some have said they will hold up just fine, but if you go from sever cold to a hot car wash that it might start cracking... Any ideas? The tires are all season SUV tires...

Just trying to justify the pain in getting all these tires to the shop to get them rotated out!

Thanks.

does it snow quite a bit in minnesota? i would keep your stock wheels for winter and do a tire swap. i am using my stock 18's for winter driving right now. my 22's are resting in the garage.

i would like to know everyones views on this as well... i have heard that as long as you keep them clean and salt (if in an area that uses it) off you will be fine.

I believe salt is the biggest problem. I'm in Indiana and I'll be throwing on the stockers for the winter. I found out what salt does to rims with my truck. With the amount of snow/salt you see in MN you'd damn near need to wash them daily.

For what you probably paid for the Dropstars, is it worth the risk?

It's always good to keep the stockers for winter time. My old billet wheels off my truck got destroyed by the winter weather and roads.

Definitely put the stockers back on!!!! My Mustang was driven a few times in the winter and the sand ate up the rims!! Although the 300C kept the rims on all winter but it wasn't driven in the snow. ND winter isn't great for rear wheel driving.

Thanks for the info... I had hoped to sell the stock ones off to make up for some of the cost... The tires/tread on the Dropstars are way better than what I have on my stock as well, so that was another reason... Looks like I will be swapping them out and falling in love all over again in the Spring... Thanks!
