vibration with my new 22s

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and I could definitely use some help. I just bought a 2006 300 w/12K miles and got the dealer to pull the 22s off another 300 and he threw them into my deal. They look awesome! Trouble is the dealer balanced them and the car shook at around 65 mph. I took the car to a professional after market tire dealer today, they said the balancing was off and the plastic spacer rings or whatever you call them were not installed properly- and the car should now be perfect. Well it's not- definitely better but still not perfect at around the same speed- 65-70 mph.
Any suggestions? Should I expect that large wheels and tires just won't ride smooth at certain speeds? I didn't own the car before the large wheels so I don't have anything to compare it to, except for my Murano and Ford Explorer with factory wheels.
Thanks!

plastic spacer rings hmmm!!!!!!!! 22's seem to be rather difficult to get balanced perfect. some take huge amounts of weight. i have asanti's and no matter what i do i can not get one of them to balance out perfect, so i have a slight vibration around 75-85. but its not that bad, just have to live with it. its just the nature of the beast.

There are a few things you can do. First the plastic ring thingy is called a Hubcentric ring. Make sure you have the right size and it is installed correctly (not pinched or cracked). Second have your tires balaced somewhere that has a Road Force balancer. This type of balancer applies pressure to the tire tread as if it was on the road driving to give a true balance due to tire and rim imperfections. Finally you can have your care finish balanced or on car balanced. This is where they jack up you car and use a finish balancer to balance the tires on the car. This will help elliminate any issues that may be be from the hub or rotor.

I just had that problem and took it back and they re-balanced the front end but I found not much changed. I took it back yesterday and they took all the wheels off and swapped all the tires around and then put the wheels that needed the least balancing on the front.
My problem is gone!

this is going to sound stupid, but all of the lugnuts are tight, right?

if one of those rings got smooshed, the rim probably won't meet up against the hub very well.

here's another thing to check. pull one of the rims off and make sure that the rotors are clean. if they're really corroded, the new rims won't mate up well. they sometimes rust where the factory rims have been.
if you put on aftermarket wheels, the new wheels will touch the rotor in different places and might not sit flush. if you hit the mating surface of the rotor with a wire wheel on a drill, you'll clean off that junk and it might get rid of the vibration.

If all else fails, check to make sure they took the Tinnerman clips off the rotors... looks like washers, but are used to hold the rotor on during the manufacturing process. OEM wheels have the cutout for these, aftermarket usually do not.

Balance all of them... but you will notice if the fronts are out of balance a lot more than if the backs are out, since you will feel it through the steering wheel. Some folks only do the front for that reason, but save yourself the trouble and always do all of them.

I had 8mm spacers on my car which gave me rubbing problems when I had too many people and made my steering wheel shake at 65ish. I had the spacers in the back removed and I have no problems whatsoever with rubbing and shaking... I was in a rush so I still have the spacers in the front :-/ Im hoping 5mm spacers wont give me trouble
