Question 22" Tis #08

Does anyone have any experiance with this wheel? I'm purchasing a set of wheels on Monday and this is what I'm looking at. At $1,400 I think its a fair price since local dealerships are offering at 2K and $2,600.

Wheel Size: 22 x 9.5
Bolt Pattern: 5 x 115
Offset: +18mm

How is the ride? How is the quality of the wheel. Thanks for any help.

Well, it is the weekend.... most folks are here during the week only.....

I imagine the wheel is ok.... haven't heard any loud complaints in the forums.... but here are some links ( Isee you have seen this link.. maybe someone else hasn't)

Poor quality TIS

Otherwise, Looks like you might be the first with TIS 08's..

Hey CB,

Thanks for following up. Appriciated. I never did consider the weekend. Thats is actually when I go on-line the most as my weeks are busy. Anyways, I did see the link regarding TIS. I havent heard any positive or negative info on TIS iteself except for that thread.

Judging from their product line, they seem to be lined up with some pretty reputable wheel companies like DUB and Dropstar. I didnt see any articles on-line supporting any bad reviews. More research will need to be done.

I wouldn't be concerned about the quality. TIS and Dropstars are both subsidiaries of American Racing. My understanding is that American Racing had a solid rep and stand by their products. The wheels look good. Congrats on the set for that price. Does that include wheels and tires?? Post pics once you get them on the car!!

I have these wheels in 24's. I have attached some pictures. If you are asking about quality, they are one of the top respected wheel manufacturers.

I did break one this summer on my way to minneapolis. But that's what happens when you hit a 4"x6" block of concrete that got chipped out of the road with rubber band tires (25 Series Tire on a 24" wheel). Surprisingly they held up pretty good. There was a 1/4" dent in the wheel and about a 4" crack around the rim causing the tire to go out.

Here are some pictures: Sorry about the Cell Phone Pics.

Thanks 3002NV and rfgervasi. I really like these wheels and more than likely will buy, but an earlier post regarding their poor quality made me cautious. I did some research and I agree that they seem of high quality and are tied into American Racing, which I trust as a vendor. Your first hand experiance is worth it's weight in gold to me since I do make make large purchases w/o getting user reviews and opinions.

I will be getting 22's. The vendor is a local wheel shop located in So. Cal which is in the heart of an automotive district causing serious price cuts. The price does not include wheels so I need to look into those next. Any suggestions on tire sizes for a 22" wheel?

BTW, were you able to repair your wheel or did you have to buy a new one?

Thanks,
EBO
