tire size

i've decided to go new on some wheels and am looking at tire sizes. the manufacturer recomends 305/40/22 on a boss 22" or 275/45/20 on a 20" rim. these sizes are questionable to me because the first has a 32" cir and the second has 30". this is too tall on a stock 300c isn't it? what is the tallest tire we can use?

My short answer is.. the 305 will potentially rub on the rear just from the width...

at 305, you should be at a 25 profile.....

I'd stay away from the guys recommending those incorrect tire sizes.

The size of the tire and whether or not it rubs is also dependant on the offset and width of the wheel that you use.
265/30-22 28.3" diameter is an appropriate size for most wheels.

Tyre Calculator - Alloy Wheels - Specialist supplier of alloy wheels and tyres packages, 0% Finance and Fast Delivery

Use this to calculate tyre sizes. you put in standard then mess about with various sizes to get the circumference correct

Hope it helps!
