Thats good for $250. Did he quote you on the drag radials or the street tires. The street tires go for about that much.

Are you guys thinking we should be able to run these with stock half shafts? I personally think we should be able to as long as we don't run the tire pressure too low so they hook too good. I feel that a little wheel spin would be better on the stock half shafts then a dead hook. I want to us these on the street. My car is not a daily driver...

Thoughts?

that's the same thing i'm thinking about. use them on the streets and light track.. but not as a daily driver!!

Glad I am not alone in my thinking but I have a feeling I will be upgrading half shafts somewhere down the line too.

Not sure if I would use it for the street. They are soft and might pick up to many stones or nails. Your quarter panels might take some abuse too.

I gotta think one or two good hooks when you get on it and the shafts are gone . I'd love to be wrong......but it appears the shafts need the give of a street tire . If this would work 600 bucks would seem cheap . My cars not a daily driver so I would love to hook regularly for nice street launces . But gut feeling is bad on this one . Be careful and stay close to home......

I recently saw these tires too! I mean, it's about time. 18" drags have been the largest size for so long, which was really sad.

Not saying it won't happen, but I watch many many many guys with dr's at the track with stock half shalfts. They do run after run hooking up all the way.

They don't have a lot of mods, but they do tons of runs with no problems. We all know with extra power you're toast. Also, the qualfe with the combination of dr's seem to be the death sentence for the stock half shafts.

I concour that you will need aftermarket HP half shafts if you run with DR's. I also think it will twice as bad with a 20" DR. I had installed aftermarket shafts and a Quailfe so I should to good to go.
