Need Help with 22" Asanti Fitment for SRT8

Hey Guys,
I went to order some 22" Asanti's for my SRT8 at lunch and I was trying to get 22''x 9 & 22" x 10.5 rear and the Wheel shop said that they called Asanti and that the only size wheel they could fit was the 22x 8.5 all the way around. He said that Asanti people were checking around to see if they could find something out.

He said that the problem lie within the Brembo Brakes. Anybody heard anything about this. I know LB44 has 22x9 Lowenharts are there any other SRT-8 with 22'' wheel. The factory wheels are 20x9 so I don't see why you have to stick with 22x8.5's.

Any help or input would be welcomed,

Dough

Unhappy Bad news bro...

Hey dough...what's up?

Listen...I've been kicking around the idea of Asant's as well. Could never bring myself to drop that kinda grip for the wheels. Gorgeous wheels regardless of the flavor though (AF120, AF128, AF131, AF132, etc.). I went with some 3-pc forged that are ringers for Asanti's depending on what style you picked. I had my connection call Asanti last week for some pricing...and you're right, Asanti WILL NOT make anything larger than an 8.5" wheel for a 300. They have been researching the outstanding issues for upsizing on a 300 and made the decision not to offer anything wider than an 8.5" wheel. My wheel guy tried to reason with him saying that he had been putting 9.0", 9.5", and 10.0" wheels on 300s with no problems or fitment issues. Asanti didn't care...they're not doing it...period. That's my experience anyway.

PM me if you wanna know more about the wheels I went with.

Previous post

I have an amendment or addition to my previous.

It's not just the SRT8...it's any 300. Although you are going to have issues with wheels because of the size of the caliper. You're going to really have to do your research to find a wheel that has the appropriate concave design to get past the big brake kit issue.

IMHO I don't think the caliper issue is something that offset is going to be able to fix. I do have an idea for a great wheel, PM me if you're curious. Also...what Asanti are you looking at?

Asanti made me 22x8.5" fronts (+13.5" offset) and 22x10" (16.4" offset) rear knowing that it was going on a lowered 300C with eibach pro-kit and full wilwood big brake kit. I had to roll the rear fenders a bit to completely alleviate the slight rubbing I got in the rear on quick bumps and decents, not because of the rear wheel but the tire choice (295/30/22), they recommended nothing wider than a 285/30. Not sure who they talked to at Asanti but they will (at least did in many situations) make a wider wheel for a 300.

Granted I do not know how the SRT-8's calipers reside in relation to the hub but a good wheel shop should be able to take some measurements and work directly with Asanti. This is what they do is custom wheels and offsets, just make sure the shop that is ordering them knows their stuff, if not find another shop or learn how to measure youself.

I will tell you that I have about a 1/2" clearance from the front calipers and over 1" from the rear calipers and the stock wheels will still fit on my car.

Hope this helps,
James

Look...you can call BS if you want. Take a look at all of my posts and you'll see that I'm not on here trying to mislead people or give out bad info, which is why my post says states it was my experience. I simply reinforced the info that Dough got from the dealer about Asanti's fitment moving forward. That is verbatim what the Asanti rep told my wheel contact when I had him call for fitment. It was also the rep that told him that the caliper on the SRT8 was going to be an issue and that the 8.5" all around was their standard answer moving forward. BTW I would never argue with James (especially since I'm a customer) and would agree with everything that he said. I also never said a staggered fit was going to be an issue which is what I'm assuming you meant by mounting a 10.5" wheel. You want to roast somebody for sharing their experience...fine...but I won't have my integrity questioned by you.

No big deal...just wanted to make sure that we are all on the same page to try and help out. There are plenty of people on the forum with more experience than me, but I have been doing a ton of research on wheels for the last couple of months so I'm just trying to pitch in. Dough, let us/me know what you figure out for wheels. Now I really want to know what's up with Asanti for sure
