More sites/stores should publish the rim weights. I went to a large local rim shop, that specializes in 20" and up rims, and I started asking them the weight of the rims. They got a strange confused look on their face, like they have never heard that question before. They didn't have a clue about the weights and didn't have a scale. I asked them why they didn't know, and they said folks looking to bling their cars don't care about weight. Whatever.

That has been precisely my experience. What's more, call a customer service rep. at many of the manufacturers putting out the more popular brands of wheels and you get the same, "duh, hmmmm".

Wheel weights

When I was shopoing for my wheels, I would call the manf direct and they would be like....."somewhere in the 35-40 lb range".....then I'd call back a day or two later hoping for somone else and they'd say, "that wheel weighs 42 lbs".....
What I concluded is that if they don't know (or pretend to not know) it's probably a really heavy wheel......the wheels that are legit and expensive list their weight most of the time.

Thanks for the link, eudaman. It's helpful. Just came back from having my 255/55/18 KDW2's intalled and spent a lot of time looking at rims while I waited. Had the salesguy look up weights.

Many of the "bling" wheels had no weights listed. they had a large showroom so we weighed some as well - 45 to 50 lbs! Ugh...

They had some nice Motegis (made by American Racing) that were 26 lbs.
