Tires rotated every 6000 miles?

Has everyone been told by their dealer that the 300C tires need to be rotated every 6,000 miles? We were just told that by our dealer and our car has 15,000.

We took it in because the front end was viabrating at 65-70 mph. Thought it needed alignment. But it's the worn tires which they are only rotating and balancing at this point (our expense).

Based on personal experience, if you want to maximize the tire life you should rotate as documented. Also, reduce the air pressure in the rear tires a few lbs below manufacture's recommendations.

Below is a link with some pictures of the tire wear if you don't rotate.
Front Tire Wear - Caused by Alignment Issue

Clearly, the front alignment has some issues when shipped on early 300c's back in May 2004. Also you can see the manufacturer's tire pressure caused the rear tires to wear excessively in the centre. I specifically asked the dealer not to rotate the tires due to my personal preference for balance of the tires. The original balancing from the factory is always best.

Downside, by rotating the tires you mask the root issues with the car's tire wear problems.

Gang,

After almost 21K the tires on our "C" are about to the wear bars and I'm 63 years old. The "Connies" are a "POS" and they will not do anything for you. I called the OEM and they more or less told me "Tough". To say that I am not a happy camper is an understatement!!!.................... As soon as someone else makes tires for this car, they will get my business.

So I guess the BFG KDW and P6 are not quite adequate? I am in the same boat, just got back from Cleveland and the car has such a poor ride of rough pavement. My wear is OK, but the steering wheel dances on the bumps and the rear steps out on bumps in curves and the body flicks left or right on bumps when going straight. I wonder (hope and pray) if this is all tire, otherwise the suspension is poor, no way this thing keeps up with a Mustang on the track, you'll be too busy fighting the wheel and unstable rear end. I am going to make a move on tires within 10 days.

Have a quick question ? I have 6000km on my 300C AWD and have had my conti tires balanced THREE TIMES these last two weeks. Now i am experiencing shudder from my steering wheel especially at about 55 mph : it lessons at higher speeds but i notice a vibration ( not serious ) coming from the front tires regardless of what speed i go !
Can someone please advise me what exactly is happening ? And please advise what to do ?
Thank You

I just wanted to mention that my alignment was performed two weeks ago and the tread wear looks ok . Somebody had suggested to raise my tire pressure to 40 PSI but the rides like an dump truck !, so i lowered it to exactly : 30.5 PSi all the way around.
Cheers
