Am I wrong here?

OK, I know we had a post the other day and I was first to say how awesome Steve is at Allstarrims. Well.... I ordered a set of wheels and tires that were in stock and the tires had been mounted already (used DUB MOABS). Aurther took my money on Sunday last week, and said he would ship them Monday or latest Tuesday (talked to him again Tuesday). He had quoted me the price of $2000.00 shipped, I thought that was fair with Prielli 265/35/20 Scorpions. He called me back Tuesday and said he had to charge tax, then called me later saying shipping was not included and he had to charge another $100.00 (I talked him down to $50.00).

Now the saga. I emailed him Thursday to ask him for some tracking #s. He emailed them quickly and showed that they had just shipped that day (3 days after he said they woul go out). I got upset, and emailed him I started the email by saying "WTF?". Maybe a little harsh. I asked him about why it took so long and that he screwed me out of another $230.00 with the shipping and tax.

Now today I get an email from Steve the owner. Here is the email

"Who the Heck do you think you are? some moron. Learn something about respect you jerk you have a really bad attiude and need a adjustment on your
point of view on life, go get a life moron.

Also have fun working your 9-5 moron"

... Hmmmm, I spend $2250 on wheels I was promised they would go out since they were mounted already and I am the moron? WTF? He called my cell phone, I am sure to yell and scream, is this the service I deserve? Would you want to be treated like this?

u buy with a cresit card?

i would deny receipt of them and tell the credit card company you arent paying for them. im sure we can get enough support on this site and others to make him feel his lack of business acumen where it hurts the most; in the pocket!

i agree with biopsea. Don't accept the wheels (as hard as that may be) and call the credit card company and cancel the transaction. But first I would call in person and make sure he's the one that sent that, just to remove any doubt that he himself wrote that. I, being a business person, find it hard to believe that a businessman would treat a customer like that. But if he did have the balls to email that, screw him. It would be better to buy wheels from someone else that to give that ass your money.

Ditto what CrownMotoring said about verifying he was responsible for the e-mail that was sent under his name.

About the shipping: his web site offers free ground shipping for 4 wheels. Maybe his out is the tires?

About the sales tax: First, if you are in AZ and he is in CA (and he has no facilities in AZ....there are special circumstances; but, this is the standard) there should be no sales tax. If "sales tax" was paid, it is probably a "profit padder". Second, his web site specifically states no sales tax for sales outside of CA.

Something smells.

ON EDIT: his free shipping is contingent on purchasing a $149 package that includes balancing, lug nuts & some other stuff.....did you get this?

Damn, buddy. I don't know what to tell you. Since you paid in cash several days ago, I don't know if refusing the shipment is the way to go.....you'd hate to be out the cash and the wheels.

When he called you those two times to (apparently) screw you out of taxes & shipping, you said he had to "charge you".....how did you pay this? or, have you paid this? Is there any extenuating circumstances that would explain why you were asked to pay taxes & shipping?
