Can someone explain to me why DCX has chosen such weird offsets for their SRT and AWD vehicles. I believe the 300 SRT 8 has a 10 - 20 offset. The selection of aftermarket wheels seems slim to none. As an offset was required why not chose a more common one? Is there some technical reason for these specific offsets or is this just bad design?
Has anyone found out for sure that the 18 inch wheels will not fit because of the brakes?

uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh..................what? I don't think you really want 18's on an SRT8. Just one man's opinion.

As a proud owner of a 5.7 C, I agree....why in the world would you want my wheels on your car? The same way I would never consider putting something less than 18s on my car.

Not sure what 10 - 20 offset means. The actual offset on the SRT8 wheels is 25.5.

First, with regard to the offset. The 25.5 is news to me. I had two separate local tire shops do the research and that is what they told me. If I am wrong, I stand corrected. Where did the figure 25.5 come from?
As to 18's. I want a second set of 18" to put on some winter tires or at the least some excellent all seasons (ie. Nokian) for the less fair months. I live in Canada and already have a C5 for those beautiful summer days. There has been some earlier discussion about this on the board. People were speculating that the brakes would stop you from downsizing but I was wondering if anyone had perservered and been successful. With regard to the AWD offsets there was grumblings from those with Magnums who wanted to have the RT wheels but could not because off an offset issue.

.
25.5 is stamped on the inside of the wheels and the offset has been documented in the service manual.

25.5 is exactly an inch. Not THAT weird. We are in the US, right?
So that's a total of 5.5" backspacing (4.5" BS would be +0 offset)
So if were to get an aftermarket wheel of 20 (or 22") x 9.5" (an extra 1/2" of width), if you go 1/2" more outside, you'd up w/an offset of +13. So you don't get too much wheel rub, you'll be better off with a +15 to +18 offset. No diff than the other 300cs.
Lots of wheels you can get w/that.
Only issue would be finding a wheel to clear the big brakes.

This is something I have been wondering about. I want an srt8 magnum and I have 22s on my RT and was told they wouldnt fit. But now its looking like they will. I believe I have a -18 offset.
I'm pretty sure you have an +18mm offset not -18mm
