Did you say the conti self seals are good in the snow?
I will use them as my winter tire.

Well what what the decision on the non self seals? Are they much better than the self seal Conti's?
Anyone get the Goodrich's in snow? How did they do?
Still waiting on some snow down here, but I can tell you that so far the Conti non seals are a great improvement over the seals. Having now made several short (100 mile) jaunts on them my butt says the rear end os riding smoother and more sure footed I think than before.

2006 300C HE ,BLACK, MAX FL WINDOW TINT, NOT SO BALD REAR TIRES,
Yes chasb, my self seal Contis were fine in the snow this past mid Ohio winter, lots of snow and ice, never really deep enough to hang up under the car and I live up a hill so plowing is good. Drove through lots of the stuff up that long hill before plowing and was very impressed.
NEW TIRE UPDATE:
I got the Goodyear Assurance Comfort Tread 225/60-18 installed today, WHAT A DIFFERENCE. The rear twitch/quiver on bumps (curve and straight) is 100% gone. The steering kick is 95% gone, it now drives like a normal car, the occasional steering kick is very infrequent and muted, just like my brother's Audi. I drove over rutted and broken pavement that would have the Contis jiggle the steering wheel so much it rattled my metal watch band, not so with these new tires.
I was all set to go with NRs recommended BFG KDWS (not his KDW2) but the superior snow and ice performance sold me on the GY and I do not plan on new snows. Also the GY has a 30 day trial and I can return them If I don't like them, yeah right, "would you please put my Contis back on".
I am sure the BFG handles better given it is a performance tire but the GY seems to handle as well as the conti which I never complained about. Freeway on ramps and around town moderately aggressively seemed no different from stock, the steering response is better and seems tighter. To my suprise the Contis were half worn at 11K, they looked way worse when off the car vis a vis the mini inspection I did proclaiming they looked pretty good.
My C now is smooth and quiet and no longer has that horrible crash when going over bumps, it is still no Buick (thankfully) but the suspension noise is now appropriate for the bump, very similar to my X5 or E Class.
I think the BFG would be a great choice if snow is not a concern (I know it is rated for "light snow", translated: keep your a$$ at home). The BFG would provide better handling at the expense of longevity and perhaps some smoothness. I will give up some handling to simply be able to go down the road and not have my fillings jarred loose or my watch damaged.
Bottom line, if you have these same issues with the C steering and suspension, getting rid of the Contis and replacing with anything would be an improvement, certainly could not be any worse. In the half a day I have had the GY, I love them, consider the basis from where I am starting though. I have been dealing with this crap for over a year and I feel liberated , I could not take any more of the ride harshness and steering kick. Time will tell how well these new GYs perform and to make sweeping conclusions now is a premature, one thing is sure though, the ride and steering are now smooth and normal. Thanks CDG for the PM about these tires.

Kings, that's great news about the new Goodyears. A lot of 300C owners are going to be very happy that this new tire is out there - especially is you want to run an all season tire.
BTW: I saw a new 300C on my dealer's lot the other day with Goodyears on it. I was going to find out more info, but i had to rush off - and it slipped my mind. Maybe it's the same tire?

I am sure it is the same NR, from what I can gather from thier site GY only makes one tire in this odd size and this is it. One small fly in the ointment, I have to go back for a rebalance, all four are out of balance one complaint I did not have with the Contis. NE1 know if it matters where the weights go, they put them on the inner side of the wheel rim which looks great but seems as if the weights are doing nothing.

When I put the BFG KDW's on, I had them place the weights on the inside.
All was well until a week ago - I'm out of balance now. Gotta go for a rebalance - I'll ask about weight placement.

If anyone is interested the Tire Rack is carring the Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 in a 235/60/VR18 for $183. Should be a good replacement for the OEM tire.
Bill
Gang,
I purchased these tires from Discount Tire this past week (Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 235/60/18's) and had them put on my car. However, I've had to made two trips to the dealer to have my computer reset for this size tire. (there is no setting in our ECM to cover this size) After a little research the dealers Tech and I discovered that the SRT-8 rear tire and this tire is the almost the same size. When you go out to the Interstate and time the car between mile posts, it comes out correctly. The rear size for the SRT-8 is 255/45/20 and that's the size you will want to set your ECM to.
