After market tires

If anyone is interested the Tire Rack is carring the Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 in a 235/60/VR18 for $183. Should be a good replacement for the OEM tire.

Thanks for the heads up, I had not considered this size, lots of opportunities for other brands. That is a half inch bigger than stock, I worry about that asinine bolt hitting the tire, to be safe, I would have NTB match the price and install and check the bolt clearence.

I have some Kumho Ecsta SPX's 235/50-18 on order which are slightly smaller than stock and a deal at around $130 each. Kumho has plans to begin production of 245/50-18's in about two months which will be almost identical in height as OEM. I'd wait for these if I could, but I needed tires right away. I'll post pics, and review in a few days.

CAS, thanks for the heads up on the Kumho's, I was thinking of this size, for replacements, and I only have 4K on mine. So far, they seem to be wearing pretty well, I have them at 35 psi./all around.

You might want to check out the bf goodrich g-force kdw's 255/55/18. They are very highly rated and are relatively cheap on tirerack. Plus, they have a sweet tread. Check out NorthernRider's ride. Mine are already on order should arrive today or tomorrow.

Just a note to all. I just had the rear tires replaced on the C (how come they wore out before the fronts? ) with the Conti non self seals. What an incredible difference in the ride quality!!! I may just have to change the fronts for kicks!

Very good point, my tires have even wear at 10K, rotated at 7500. Seem like they will be good for 25K. I hate all the jigglig in the steering with the Conti self seals. I do like the snow performance.
I never considered non self seal Contis. In other threads I have stated I have yet to find a good alternative or brand. That Michelin MXM got terrible reviews and most would not buy it again, snow performance was lacking. My only concern is buying non seal Contis and having the same issue, seems you have not found this to be the case.

I'm be "out and about" tonite with 'em on and will try to let you know tomorrow how they do overall. Just the short ride from the tire shop back to work tells me in my behind that they ride better. Can't tell you about snow performance from down here

Well what what the decision on the non self seals? Are they much better than the self seal Conti's?

Anyone get the Goodrich's in snow? How did they do?
