Well The Ride Quality Between 20" And The 22" Is Different. The 20" Will Ride Better Due To The Fact That You Can Get A Bigger Side Wall On The Tire. The 22" Will B A Smaller Side Wall And Will Be Stiffer Ride. The 22" Sure Look Better In My Opinon Though

22" wheels

I just test-fit my new 22" I-Forged wheels. I just HAD to test them and see how they rode as compared to the stocker 20" wheels/tires.
THERE WAS NO DISCERNABLE DEGRADATION IN RIDE QUALITY!
I was quite worried that going to 22's would ruin the ride, but I was thrilled to find that the ride was essentially unaffected. The impact harshness was up slightly, but nothing anyone would notice; I actually liked the difference.
The transient response was better, but I haven't had the chance to throw it around enough to really get a good feeling of the difference.
This great ride quality has nothing to do with wheel diameter, and everything to do with low wheel weight.
These I-Forged wheels are really fantastic. I was ready to buy them from GSM, and ran into fastmax2 who was selling his. They are a bit "bling" for my tastes (I was going to get the brushed finish), but I am sure I will get used to it
I am going to pull 'em off tomorrow since I haven't lowered the car yet (I just can't run the 22's ridin' high like that).

If you are concerned about ride quality with 22" wheels-
FORGETTABOUTIT!
Just make sure the wheels you choose are lightweight, and go with 3-pc forged if you can!

I so wanted to get those rims from Fastmax. They look sweet!! Good to hear that the ride quality on those light rims are not bad either.

On the pic, the car doesn't really look riding too high. Is it really that bad even with SRT hight? Can I see more pic if you have a chance??

Is anyone else selling them?? cuz I'll jump on it!lol

Having read this thread the whole way through...I think I have an answer...I say to look at the SRT 8 and you'll find it too. They went with 20's...I would say they certianly know more than I do about these things so I'll call it that way...if there's a debate, go with 20's or get an SRT8 and the mods are built in for less money and trouble. Some mods are worth making...tires and braking are less negotiable (with regards to changing the enigneering from factory) than are interior, sound, body or even engines and transmissions. What good is your car when you've wrecked it and injured yourself or others in the process? Lord knows I hope it doesn't come to that but drastically changing the engineering on the one place where the "rubber meets the road" literally isn't the best idea to me. Anywhere else is fair game but tires and brakes not as likely.

Go aftermarket all the way. Chrysler engineers have company standards to adhere too including gas mileage. weight, and polled customer preferences(which includes every Chrysler owner from 18-80). I ride Dub Mogul 22" in Pirelli Scorpion Zero 265/35. Stock ride on 18's was slushy and bouncy, new shoes are quick and responsive with no loss of ride comfort.

After reading all the posts, I think I'll go with 20's or maybe keep the stock tires. I have to heavily agree with Matrix on the street quality affecting this decision.

I live in the Bronx, my parents live in Staten Island and my buddy lives in East New York, Brooklyn. If I visit either of them, I will encounter highway craters (yes, in NY we have ridiculously deep highway craters in some areas that are enough to damage your car) deep expansion strip detents (deep enough to jar you on 18s which are cushy-picture that) and street moonscapes. There's multiple sections of Brooklyn that built on marsh land and the asphalt buckles and waves bad enough in some areas that there's a 4" difference in a 2 foot section of road. I drove painfully slow over one of these and still heard a light scraping from underneath, accompanied by the usual "I hate this ****ing city" and " I pay my taxes for this $hit?" comments.

The clincher; whilst prepping to pull into the street from McDonalds I noticed another car on the road sitting at the red light with 22's on. The rims looked like they were driven on the bad side of the moon with flat sections around the circumference of the lip. That and the jarring ride home keeps me from ever approaching 22's as a possibility anywhere near the vicinity of NYC.

There are unpaved roads in 3rd world countries smoother than our streets! Better to keep the stock rims.

22" Wheels

Living in NYC and Long Island is tuff!! I live on Long Island and travel through the city to NJ with my 300 SRT8 with 22's and it scares me to death every time. I have to dance around the pot holes each time, but it's worth it!! I use the car for show and as a daily driver (in sunny clear weather only!) with 22's and love it. SORRY THIS PIC IS SO ANNOYINGLY BIG. Just got a new computer system and programs, trying to figure out how to adjust the pic sizes.
