Just when I was ready to go with the 22"s I talk my way out of them. I wonder how noticeable the jump from the stock 20"s to 22"s would feel like.

SRT owners chime in.

I thought this article linked through the Mazda link and from Edmunds was particularly interesting as well.

This is especially a good read for the "show me some proof" group.

I think you have to experience it yourself. Just go for it man. If you like the look of 22s, you won't regret it!
Besides, if you don't like it, I'll buy it off from you! You are getting the Sevas were you? Can't exactly remember...

My is all for show, but at the same time the 22s are a decent ride. However they DO cost more money and they DO eat up my gas more than 20s would. This all besides the fact that with a 20" rim the sidewall of the tire will be bigger allowing for a normal size curb to not damage the rim in case of an accidental rub.
But what if you're going to be a real estate agent... aren't going to drop the car, want the wheel well filling 22's but don't want to sacrifice any acceleration...? am I SOL?

Back to basics...... if you are going to run 22's you have 2 choices cast or multi piece wheels. Cast wheels weigh a ton multi piece weigh a lot less, hence minimal sacrifice in handling and performance if any at all. But if you are not going to lower the car there will be wheel gap. You may want to consider KW V2 coil overs that will allow you to manually adjust the height of the car to clean it up and improve your ride.

I got the 22's last week. I envisioned the 22's being really ugly rough, but they were not... 265x35/22's.

I am SO happy that I did not go with the 20's. In the matter of fact, I'll get a second set of 22's once the snow has melted. Wheel well gap is about 2'5", so possibly a set of spring will correct that one.
