Unhappy $200 manual fan controller & 180 stat

After installation of the Mod i cannot say i'm impressed at all, don't feel any improvement over the 3 step ESP feature, maybe with S/C power or some porting and extrudehoning,, i'd truly see or feel a difference, yet with the Mod Active there isn't any noticable gain, in shift quickness or firmness, accept the temp with the 180 stat is much better, other than that i'm unimpressed. Their claim to any Time off ET is in my opinion a Lie. With Gtech i wasn't able to gain anything from a Stock Run. Nothing. So i'll see when happens when i add power, guess ya can't always believe what ya read in product claims. I'd have been glad to see any improvement in ET or MPH, yet in time i'll truly see if there's a benefit over the 3 Step ESP.

What have others noticed?

Today's runs were in low pressure cause it's raining now, so i'll keep hopes up and make some passes with good weather and see if there's any truth to what Scott said about gaining Timing due to the 180 stat.(stock was 203) I don't see any benefit other than lower temps.

Live life on your terms and grin while using the Go pedal & one finger salute.

Fan Mod

Did you get the Torque mod also, or just the fan mod?

At the drag strip, I noticed a big difference in ET based on engine temp. As in, as my motor got hotter, my ET's dropped, every time. I just added the fan mod (haven't installed the 180 stat yet).

The torque mod made a VERY noticeable difference immediately. Shifts are quicker and firmer, and rear tires wanna play CONSTANTLY!

We have data logged the car in Manual vs "D" and there is about 5 degrees more timing in manual mode and the computer dose not use the same stratgey when approuching a shift point since it is decided by the driver.

When you are making your runs go out and try the car in manual shift mode and you should be able to now shift at about 5800-5900 with sucess vs before the mod you would have to shift at about 5500 rpm to be accurate on shifting becuase of the lag .

One other thing, we posted the Engineering documents from the factory on this mod which clearly states even with the ESP OFF on the SRT's there still is a precentage of hold back, I can repost that if you would like a better understanding of how the systems come in to play in you vehicle.
