Welcome VM Motor

Just though I be the first to post & welcome new owners of the VM engines. Welcome to 3CF a website dedicated to all good things Chrysler 300C & SRT8.

58 views, not bad. It uses Fiats Multijet II injection system

Nice pics, badgx. Do you know if the swirl motor, alternator and oil filter are in similar positions to the OM642? I notice the oil filler cap has been relocated and I await with interest to see what problems the new engine might throw up. Hopefully, may have to wait some time for this to happen!

Don't think they are selling as many, may have to wait time before we get to learn of any short comings.

I wish we could get SRT8's over here bud, no news from Chrysler but the 6.4 is available to order in the GC form, which is equally as impressive

Interesting article. The alternator does appear to be similarly located to that in the Merc engine, although the oil filler cap is on the opposite side (good). However, the dipstick is in a similar position to the Merc and follows a tortuous route to the oil pan at the rear of the engine. The item that looks like an oil filter housing does appear to be accessible from above. Can't make out where the swirl motor might be, but hopefully in a more sensible location than the Merc's.

According to Wiki the A630 motor is generally reserved for Chrysler products with one exception -

"A 630 DOHC

A 3.0 L (2,987 cc or 182.3 cu in) double overhead camshaft V6, featuring four valves-per-cylinder and common-rail direct fuel injection. A variant complying with emission norms of North America market (NAFTA) is named L630 DOHC

A630 applications (EU):

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

what i found more interesting is that on one of the 'posh' marques getting this motor (not the 300c!), theres a twin turbo version with greatly enhanced output
