Peeling Carbon Fiber Interior trim

Chrysler steps up.

I received a letter from Chrysler, they are going to warranty the peeling carbon fiber in my 2012 300 SRT8 and a good number of other models.

Mostly I have figured out a fix for this, but I appreciate Chrysler stepping up and doing what is right.

They stood behind the black chrome, now the carbon fiber. Who knows what’s next, they may stand behind the bubbling leather Dashboards.

I love this car, I want to keep it for another six or seven years if possible. The devil is in the details Chrysler, keep up the good work correcting this stuff.

Thank you

That's good news. So what was your fix? Do you know yet if Chrysler will use the same method?

I hope they have it figured out, but I’ll let them replace the bad stuff and I’ll hit it with gorilla glue if it peels up again.

Question. Do you have extended warranty on the car ? I just bought a second hand my13 with 15,000km on it and the past 3 days of heat in melbourne has caused the center console carbon and piece on the dash to lift. If I take it to my local Chrysler dealership do you reckon they'll replace these items ?

I do have extended warranty, but peeling carbon fiber is not covered by the maxcare extended warranty.

I called SRT, here are the numbers you need when you go to your dealership.

X77 warranty extension
Bulletin number 23-051-18

When I called SRT I asked if Australians would be covered by this, the fellow was not an expert on different countries but he was pretty sure Australia was specifically covered by this.

This is a warranty extension, parts were ordered for my car yesterday.

Good luck

ah dang, see I don't have the extended warranty, but I had a chat on the phone with my local dealership and she advised me to bring the car down when I can and they can put in a courtesy claim or something and attempt to get it replaced ? I'm currently unable to take the car there as I'm too busy for the next few weeks, ill update here if I have any luck.

The factory gave us an extended warranty on this item, just have the dealer pull up that bulletin number. You do not need to have existing warranty.

My car is way past the bumper to bumper warranty, and this is not covered by maxcare. So yes, Chrysler is just doing what’s right by us and covering certain carbon fiber bits.
