Question New Maps for Garmin in my 2nd gen

Guy's

does anyone know where I can get my updates for my Sat-Nav (Garmin) in my 2013 300C, it keeps telling me that I need to update. I have tried the Uconnect website but it is telling me that it will be a main dealer, I have contacted the main dealers but they don't know either.
So I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and if they have had it updated, thanks for any help.

Thanks DGO but I have tried this already, it doesn't recognise my unit ID number it may be because it is a UK model

Hi I am Rolf, new to the forum, I have a 2014 model, gasoline engine, badged as Lancia Thema, in Switzerland. The Alfa Romeo store servicing the car say the navigation system on the European versions of the C300 cannot be updated. Anyone else with same problem? (Not sure if I am in the right forum, is the Thema version included here?)

I thought there was a particular Garmin model that people could buy with lifetime updates and update the maps to their car as well. Or are you talking about the firmware?

Take a gander at this thread: https://www.300cforums.com/forums/ca...ml#post1771218 This explains what model Garmin is needed to be compatible with our radios, as well as the method to install the maps. Tanbam used to work on these radios. Unfortunately, I haven't seen him post here in years.

I had a ‘13 and bought a Garmin just for this purpose. But never had the guts to do it for fear of things going wrong or ‘bricking’ my radio. Just kept the old maps. By the time I was feeling the need to update, I had already had that new-car-itch and traded up for my ‘17. From memory, those older threads will teach you how to update your maps at will for free. A couple things to remember...
Do NOT update your radio firmware to 2014, then you will NOT be able to update the maps. If you have already done that, then it is possible to downgrade back to 2013 firmware, and maps updates can occur.
2013 is the last year you could do this with the Garmin nav radio. Chrysler fixed that loophole in 2014 and newer.
Not all USB flash drives will work in the convoluted procedure...it may take some trial and error.
Good luck!

Maybe we'll leave come springtime, Meanwhile, have another beer.
What would we do without all these jerks anyway? And besides, all our friends are here.
