300c help needed struggling now

Hi

So the information from the beginning to where i am now..

March I drove to Salzburg to compete in the Emma European Car audio finals. Won 3rd place for Master OEM Sound Quality. Very happy with that result.. On the way down drove to Nuremberg then on to Fussen. Both parts car drove fantastic.. I filled up just outside in Fussen and noticed the Diesel was a winter grade bio diesel which is different to the uk. I have used this fuel before and had no issues. After 30mins or so driving to Salzburg the car went into limp mode. I connected to the ECU via Torque Pro OBD2 reader and it came up with a crank sensor failure. I called Chrysler Salzburg and they booked the car in the the next day.. 1 hour later all swapped and car ran better but not still 100%.. I spoke to Chrysler Salzburg and they told me they reset the ECU to get a clear diognostics of the car which was a pain as it was remapped with an eco map and the errm egr and dpf mapped out. DPF delete pipe bought from 300custom shop.. So car was in limp mode..
Drove from Munich to Calai in limp mode top speed of 60mph and 2k revs.. long drive but reached 50mpg....

So once back in the UK i got the car remapped at Viezu Berkshire and i still hav ethe same problem. Car cannot go over 2k revs and car in limp mode. So Torque pro listed a fair few sensors that had issues now.. So this is what i have replaced/done so far:
Evap sensor, Boost actuator,EGR sensor, Oxygen sensor, ECU Remap, Crank sensor, glow plug module, sensor boost pressure thingy, Air intake temperature sensor, air intake pressure sensor. Yesterday the lambda sensor was also replaced. Car is now driving better. I can rev up as normal and i have got power. However if i go on a run (motorway) and go above 60 for any length of time the car gets the red lightning bolt on and i lose turbo power.. To reset just pull over turn off the car for a few minutes and then restart and it clears for some more time..

The company that did the lambda sensor sent me the latest code i have on the car? How can i fix this?

EGR and dpf have been mapped out by Viezu Berkshire, EGR also bypassed with solenoid thingy.. Swirl port bypassed as well. Any help much appreciated..

As you've had so many mods, it is not a simple task to diagnose your problem(s). I'm puzzled by the crank sensor failure, as this would have prevented the engine running. Your problems started soon after filling up with bio-diesel, so this could be the problem. It might be worth replacing the fuel filter and filling the tank with a super fuel, such as Shell V-Power or BP Ultimate, to see if that makes any difference.

Another thought - if you had lots of sensor error codes, you may have a cable harness chaffing somewhere (look near the aircon pipes).

Hi,

Yes i was puzzled by that also. Since i filled up on the way to Salzburg it has been refilled at least 6 times since with either Shell v power or BP Ultimate, and i have replaced the fuel filter also.

Have you checked the wiring running across the top of the engine where it passes the aircon pipe? That rubs through and causes lots of bad messages to pop up

Hi

yes. Although the braiding showed signs of a bit of rubbing through all the cables are ok. I have re braided the wiring re positioned it so it doesn't rub any more..

Another possibility is:
as I have dabbled with home brewed Bio-Fuel in years past & found that a vehicle will run fine until the fuel type is abruptly changed.

Bio-Fuels or vegetable oil based diesel fuel is remarkably good at cleaning your fuel system & sends the whole bloody lot straight into pumps & filters.

The change can shift goo, contaminants, dirt and other snot... which then suddenly partially blocks the diesel filters, and sometimes fuel pumps etc....
Then fuel pressures at various places in the fuel system drop, the computer senses this & gets grumpy.... then it prevents lean running & seal failures by putting the vehicle into limp mode.

Wherever you have fuel filters in your car, get 2 of each filter... if more than 1 filter.
Change one set now, and again in a few weeks.
