    Been having a very similar issue, where within 2 minutes of locking it the alarm goes off. Turns out the battery in the alarm unit itself is dead. Its a sealed unit so cant just replace the battery, its a new unit.

    If you just want the basic remote start there is no splicing of wires needed, thats just for things like the bonnet or connecting into the horn and stuff like that. dont forget there is a couple more steps after you do the second flashing. you will see it in the instructions where it starts...

    No splicing involved on the 2nd gen. very easy and all plug and play unless you want to worry about adding the bonnet stuff. (so it wont start if the bonnet is open.) plug for the ODBC to piggy back off plug at the back of the start stop button pops out and piggy backs of the harness and back...

    That really is hard to tell, have you tried using a screw driver as a stethoscope to try and pin point where the noise is coming from? If your water pump was having a leaking problem there would be way more evidence than what there is there.
