I'm looking at upgrading my diff and axels to lsd. From what I can see on here if I don't plan on pushing over 500whp it's safe to go diff and 09+ rt axels and hubs. I'm just curious as to how far that plus goes. Looking at a RDU230FE 3.09 lsd, axels, and hubs from a 2015 charger. Will those still swap over clean or will I need a halfshaft?

Well I pulled a diff out of a 2010 srt8 callenger and I think I made an oopsie. Pretty sure this is an open diff. What's the move on the chessboard? Is there some way I can convert this to a lsd? Is there some way I can save this or am I just out?

Yep, that's a 215mm differential assembly, definitely a single leg unit. Traction Concepts has a LSD unit available to install in one of these to convert it and keep your stock gearing.

your best bet is a wavetrac differential in your stock rear. leave the axles alone they will be fine 90% of the time under 500hp. they are actually rated for 450ft-lbs. If you do happen to snap one it would only occur if you were using really sticky tires and in that case you can try to either locate the axles from the newer 5.7 cars which still used the same 215 unit but slightly stronger axles rated for 550ft-lbs. your other option would be these 600hp axles: Dodge Charger CV Axle (05-08) - The Driveshaft Shop

Yeah I seen the Wavetrac one but at around 1400 I can just source a couple more hundred and get a full getrag swap which is what I did.

I'm in the process of cleaning it up and changing axle seals and abs tone rings. Tuesday I'll go pull a driveshaft out of a charger and then I'll just be waiting on the front mounting bolt to come in the mail before I can put it all in.

Oh so you already found a getrag unit? those are nice and strong. still a wavetrac or quaife differential is a better differential to use than the clutch pack that comes in the getrag since its worm gear based and has nothing to wear out and also no need for limited slip additive but if you got a getrag already it will still be a great upgrade and plenty of strength for your hp goals so it should be great. I didnt know the wavetracs got so expensive lately.

also for anyone that does do a wavetrac or quaife do not use any synthetic gear fluid with the exception of motul gear 300 75w90 which does not have any limited slip additive in it. before i knew this i had put in some amsoil i think it was and i spun one wheel in a turn like an open diff so i switched it out for the motul fluid and it was back to 2 wheel spin and fishtailing like its supposed to do.
