My understanding is that this was a 'running change' to the 2006 models. Did your window sticker mention it? I have not been able to find out what date the 'change' took place.MHC said:I went to my dealership and they said that it's something I've got to take up with DCX. I called last Friday and spoke with someone for about half an hour. She was having a hard time understanding the problem and got a little tense with me when she rudely droned, "if equipped, sir". I asked her where it said "if equipped", because it clearly doesn't. She also told me that it's an option, so I explained that the optional radios are RAK and REC. She then said that the dealer must've switched out the radio and that I'd have to take it up with them. I assured her that until recently, all 2006 cars were shipped with the 2005 radio.
The call ended when she said that she's going to do a little research. I'll call back on Friday when I don't hear anything.
So what can I do? Go back there and tell him he's wrong and stop BS'ing me? I really want the swap no matter what. What exactly happened in your situation so I can do the same. Thanx.300cp said:HES BSin's you the S is on the end of all the chrysler vin codes or another letter. My dealer said that they do it to disquinish it from jeep and dodge and ect......no real reason though, I saw my vin code and it said REFS also but he said it is the RED Radio and the S serves no informational purpose....in the code.
I spoke with someone involved with the radio change to the 2006's. The change date was in August. I can't give you any more of an exact date, due to our e-mail system being down at the moment. If your vehicle was built before August 2006, then odds are you're out of luck as far as Chrysler doing something about it. Just my opinion, though.The_Phantom said:So what can I do?
