i just got home from the track

made 4 runs tonight with my new srt8
1st 13.5 @ 104
2nd [email protected]
3rd [email protected]

and then it happend!!!

60ft 1.94
330 5.50
1/8 8.4
mph 83.8
990 10.82
1/4 12.99
mph 108.38

it was about 70 degrees here and the barometer was 29.3

the air was far from perfect

there were 3 new mustang gt's running 13.7-13.8s

i race a 2004 cobra on the 13.24 pass to his 13.17 which was his best of the night

i have to say this is a badass car it really is awesome!!

im into fast cars as you will see in my sig . and im pretty well know in the ls1-ls6 forums with the gto&Z06

but i have to say the srt8 is an all around great ride

everyone was amazed at the track tonight with this car

temp tag on the back window and less than 1000 miles on the odometer :headbang:

when it cools down here and a cold air intake and exhaust
i can see 12.7s with no problem

i picked up the beast 10 days ago and its been great

i know this is my 1st post and all but i have been lurkin for a while now

this site has been great
thanks

I just love it! Scanned timeslips please.

There's a poll that asked could this be done -- I said yes

no diss on cecil's part...
he is just stating the whole story of blah, blah blah...
here on the site that no one could run under 13.0...
he gave you props...
trust me...
if he was dissing...
it would have been something totally different...
he was doing shorthand, no cut and paste of all the detractors that said it couldn't be done...
no harm, no foul...
GREAT JOB!!!
Keep up the great runs!!!
Sincerely,

Wonderful first post brent. Congratulations on both the car and the spectacular run! Now, if you will excuse me for a second . . .

I'm trying to decide what to eat with my crow this morning....

Brent - Welcome to the forum and congrats on one of the best first posts I've seen so far. You might want to post your slips. It's not a disbelief issue as much as it's going to be fun to see - kinda like a frequently viewed dyno video.

I'm curious by your signature line if some mods to the SRT8 are in your future???

Can you tell us how you were launching, as you dropped quite a bit on each run.

Thanks, Al

I'll admit I was absolutely wrong. I said it couldn't be done. A 12 second car? From the factory? For less than $50,000?

I've never been happier to have been so wrong.

Congrats! Watching those videos....it's obvious you have some great launching technique, neither of those Chevys has huge tires. When you were running the SRT8, was ESP on or off? Did you take some pressure out of the tires?

Congrats Brent, well done! :smoker:

I too, was one of the folks that said it 'could' be done (patting myself on the back :newangel: )..... Hrrmmm, and I remember mentioning a key element....I think it was, 60' time! :D

Now I can only imagine a 1.7-1.8X 60' time. :O We're talking 12.6-12.7's with slicks alone and broken in (IMO), that I'd like to see. :D

Congrats again!

YAAAAA!!!!! Awesome news Brent. I can't wait to get my car to the track. Everytime the weathers right, I'm out of town. When I'm in town, the weather sucks. Thanks for the post. I'm even more excited about having an SRT-8!
