Hello guys. Basically I have problem since end of 2020. Almost year ago from intermittent u0101 code it went into limp mode permanently with u0101 and ESP BAS on EVIC (haven’t diagnose it then by myself cuz I don’t have scanner) got my car “fixed” by mechanic (car was standing for some time got battery drained, all of the connectors, according to one of guys there, were disconnected) then, they simply put It back together, and it worked, telling me some kind of loosen wires or dirt was the issue. Then I got my car back, drove it for few days, got ESP BAS again, restarted car worked well. Happened to me few more times (with the tranny stuck in gear that I was in while ESP BAS showed up) every time they were gone after restating car. I get it I’m IT guy. However after aprox 2 weeks u0101 went into constant forcing car into limp mode with 2nd gear only. I didn’t realize it can be COLD wether related. Then guys that first time got hands on 300 said we gotta swap tranny. So i went and get new(used) one and got it installed but it took us almost 6mths to get it back on road (due to other stuff not related to car itself). So it was summer, warm weather, car was running great, for 4-5 mths. In last 2 months I stared noticing ESP BAS again, but it was intermittent and happened really occasionally. But hey! Once I started thinking about it more I figured it out, it’s weather related. Week by week I’ve been noticing it more and more and now it’s permanent again. Few days ago when the weather dropped down to 2 degrees of Celsius I thought to myself it’s getting really cold, first time in this year, and 2-3 days later I’m stuck in constant no communication. Basically then and now was identical, but then I didn’t realize it was weather related. So now I tired to look more into temperature threads across the web and I found some archive topic with guy writing almost same story as mine, and after inspecting wiring and fuses on the day his car was working he took out TCM and put it into freezer/refrigerator. Bang, u0101 happened, and he just went and buy a used one finally solving problem. I got bookmark on this page so I can link it later.
Anyway, I’ve checked current, ground and can bus low/high, according to information in that thread, and they were all fine. Mine car doesn’t have one special wire between TCM and PCM (greenconnector) because simply I have PCM with 3 connectors only and 4th is blank bare metal. That got me thinking if the wiring is ok, fuses, diode and relay is fine (I haven’t check the relay itself but the power goes to fuse 37 so it has to be good?) TCM gone bad, and I have to try warm it up to reverse that guy experience. However one night at home with module didn’t work in my case and now I am confused if the weather is really the problem here. Any help would be appreciated I love the car and it’s my daily driver temporarily so I have to get it done ASAP. I’ll post photos of scanned different error codes found doing a quick scan using friends tool.
Sorry if something is not understandable, I’ve tried to describe it as clearly as I can but English isn’t my native.
