I had the same problem with my pt cruiser. what solved it was to perform a 24 hours hard reset
2014 300c awd hard shift
Hey I had recently acquired a 2014 Chrysler 300c 5.7 awd it has roughly 130,000 miles on it I’m having a problem of hard shifting in 1st and 2nd gear when awd engages its drives and shifts perfectly fine in RWD the second AWD locks in it shifts funny I had the transfer case fluid changed still does same thing I’m changing transmission fluid and filter this week but I don’t think that would be the root of the problem considering it acts normal in RWD any input or opinions would be appreciated

Okay cool I’m out of town working it’s my only vehicle so I baby it to keep it in RWD I’m flying home next weekend so I’ll perform that while I’m gone what’s the process battery disconnect?I had the same problem with my pt cruiser. what solved it was to perform a 24 hours hard reset
Disconnect negative and positive, Theo plug both together for 24 hours. Ater that, connect positive first
Weird problem, as far as I'm aware there's no aspect of the AWD system that would cause the transmission to shift differently. I'd take a close look at the front axle and see if something is going on there.
Make sure all the tires are the same size.
I believe it’s the front differential
