I've been trying to replace my LCD and touch screen for my SL01 model touch screen. So far i have a working digitizer, but the touch screen i ordered was an SL02 and was said to work/replace the SL01; i installed the SL02 touch screen and got power/backlight but zero display of controls or logo/menu. When plugging in my old SL01 LCD everything comes on automatically like nothing has been changed; radio blasting and able to change functions with the steering wheel controls and the digitzer sends touches into the main radio board; none of that works with the SL02 thats supposed to work/replace SL01.

Does anyone have any experience with this and/or have sources to buy parts for the radio/display?

I had to perform this repair on my previous 2018 300s as well.

I purchased a package deal digitizer/LCD screen from a reputable source on Evilbay for $630. Installed it myself and everything worked just fine. I also purchased the SL02 version. Maybe if your digitizer didn't come with the SL02, there is a specific version that it needs to be???

Thanks for all the replies, i hope this wasn't a played out issue; i searched the forum for a couple hours and only found tons of people complaining about radio issues but didnt run into many resolved steps or specific notes about SL01 being replaceable by SL02.

My SL02 was also purchased as a package deal with the digitizer and LCD component already together, it was a very cheap Chinese version that when powering on shows a lot of hard bleeding light coming inwards from the edges of the screen. That threw the red flags at first and made me assume there were serious issues; compatibility being an assumed problem.

I resolved everything upon finding a black connecting wire that has a gold rotating housing on one of the circuit boards and has a smaller gold coupling ring on the other end of the black cable that inserts into a golden housing. The small round coupling that inserts and should grab the inner areas of its housing had lost its ability to keep itself secure so i ended up super gluing it on; problem solved.

My Chinese screen still has those bright bleeding lights around the edges but powers up and functions perfectly, and while its in normal usage those bleeding lights can barely be seen.

Too long; didn't read: check connections 3 times, super glue if needed, SL01 can be replaced by SL02.

Glad you resolved it. I figured it was either an installation issue or a defective part somewhere. SL01/SL02/SL03 are all interchangeable, and when I bought a digitizer for my SL01 I wasn't asked which version of the screen I had so I'm pretty sure it's interchangeable as well. Again kudos for figuring it out and posting what you did to resolve it because alot of these threads are left in limbo without any conclusion.
