Im getting ready to order a set of Symbolic SL3's but I have concerns because they don't come in a 22/9.5. I talked to the guys at Symbolic and they say the right set-up for the 300c is a 22/8.5 with a 15mm offset and 265/35/22 tire. Ive heard most of you say that the only way to go is a 22/9.5 but I cannot find a 3 piece wheel that I really like that comes in a 22/9.5. Almost everybody in the 3 piece wheel is 22/8.5 22/9.0 or 22/10. Can anybody who really knows please give me some advice? I don't want to spend this kind of dough on rims to find out that they will give me problems.

I've ran into that same problem. People on this forum state that 22X8.5 would cause problems rubbing due to tire shifting on wheel. I have called several different wheel factories and they have stated that the 22X8.5 is the best all around (front and back) wheel size for the 300C's if you plan on lowering the car. You can you 22X9.0, 22X9.5 and 22X10 with the correct offset. I think I will play it safe with either 22X8.5 front and rear or 22X8.5 front and 22X10 on the rear.

Hey deeone,
thanks for the reply. If I were you I would go the same all the way around instead of staggering so you can rotate the tires every 4000 miles. When your spending that kind of money on rims and tires you want them to last. Just a thought!

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. The way I drive that car I will need to rotate the rear tires soon.

Read the 22" Wheel and Tire FAQ in the FAQ/Tech section for info on why you might not want to go with a 22x9" wheel let alone an 22"x8.5" The tires will expand at speed and hit your upper control arm even moreso with a 265/35/22 on a 22x8.5"
