i,am got to replace my contis. (13000 mi.) looks like the goodyear is going to be my next tire ,what kinda price have they been paying.

I was quoted $123 + shipping from Tire Rack. The local GY dealer quoted me $180+Mount and Balance. He also is a Tire Rack installer and I brought up the difference to him, he told me to buy them from TR and ship them to his place and they'll call me when they come in to be mounted. He said they can't match the TR price.

I'll be doing this in the next week or so. My Conti's are done at 18K VERY disappointing. I drive 30K miles a year. I can't afford to put a new set on every 8 months.

Gy

Shop around .... I am getting mine installed tomorrow and it is $530 out the door. Tax, balance, disposal, everything. That is $8 cheaper than Tire Rack quoted me as a delivered price ... mounting, etc extra. I found a local GY dealer and that way I have a place to go to if I have a problem. My $.02

Got the tires today, added on the "replace these suckers for free no matter what happened to them" warranty. So total ran $580 out the door, free rotations and balance for life. Not bad. BTW, the "local" shop turns out to be Tire Discounters. Asked about "siping" ... guy was real honest, says don't even think about it on these tires, they have factory siping on 'em. They do like to sipe most others though.

Ride is much smoother, feels like the tires are under inflated they are so smooth. But I checked and they are at about 33 PSI, so if I go down to 30, they will be too soft maybe. Quiet, handles well, smooth. Good and good so far!

1000 miles on my Goodyear's

I now have 1000 miles on the GY tires. OMG they are great, getting the Conti's off has made my 300C the perfect ride. No noise, comfortable ride and 80,000 mile tred life......doesn't get any better.
As for me and tires.....it's over.....I am at long last happy.

Finally! Straight Scoop on Tires

1. Thanks for the clear info on tires... With 23,000 miles on my 1 yr old 300C you KNOW my ride is dangerous... I was determined NOT to replace with Continental OR Pirelli tires as the dealer recommended, but wanted to hear what other 300C owners were doing. I'm buying in the dark, your comments have been very helpful.

2. I complained to the Dealer last winter that my 300C was a "Death Trap" in the snow... I wasn't able to get new tires then since the 18" tires were out of stock... The Dealer said I WAS THE ONLY PERSON THAT EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT HANDLING in the winter weather...??? Do any of you drive in the snow? Did you have problems?

Thanks,

Pat

The Goodyear AssuranceTred is coming as standard equipment on 2006 300C's without Protection package.

GREAT! Chrysler Finally got the message!!! My Dealer told me that I WAS THE ONLY PERSON WHO COMPLAINED ABOUT THE Continental Tires on my $40,000 300C!!! Hard to believe. Last winter was like driving in a 'death trap' but couldn't find any 18" replacement tires... I just ordered my NEW Goodyear tires and can hardly wait to get them on. I'm SO glad I found the 300C Forum. It was much more info than I would have EVER received from the Dealer!

Pat

P.S. I just visited your Web site and watched your video of the WILD RIDE 300C VIDEO - OH MY!!! DO PEOPLE REALLY DRIVE OUR CAR LIKE THAT??? My gearhead brother took a test drive in my Cool Vanilla 300C and I almost had a fit when he tried to smoke the tires... I chuckled at your video. It must be a 'guy thing' I'm a spirited driver, but not THAT spirited. Thanks

Hey Pat, glad you enjoyed the video. Reportedly, that was a Pro Driver at a Chrysler 300 Introduction event held in LA in 2004. So it was not his own personal car. Chrysler also had an event this year that had thrill rides like that from Skip Barber Racing School instructors at in the SRT-8 and SRT-6 - www.chrysler.com/inspireddrives . The last event is event is Oct 8-9 2005 in Phoenix Arizona.

Has anyone gone from the self sealing Contis to these. Are the tires all the same dimensions and speed ratings.

Bob
Bob, the size and the speed rating are the same. We have the Self Seal on the 300C and it still had to be plugged when it got a hole. I am surprised Michelin has not jumped in on this size also?

buy 4 and get $50 free gas until October 8th:

Just put GY Assurance on last Thursday. Noticeble difference in handling and noise from the Conti's. I went thru two sets of conti's in 19K. Time will tell on GY wear. Last set..13K..was getting dangerous to drive as car was squirrelly.

SIDENOTE: Car still pulls to the right bad!! Lost my lemon law based on fact DC admitted Conti's were junk etc etc. and "good tires would solve the problem". New dealer is thinking of replacing RR suspension complete as they can't get toe in adjusted better than -.20.
YOU THINK this POS is not driving me crazy?!
