The side impact test earns only 4 stars on the driver's side, but the test car is NOT equipped with side curtains. I would think that those opting for the protection group II on the C would fare better (5-star rating??) in the side impact test for the driver.
No question that side curtain equipped cars would get 5 star rating. I think what's impressive is that the 300 gets a 4 star rating WITHOUT them. Look
over the other models and see how many did that.
The car has five stars on both driver and passenger side in a frontal crash,
and 4 stars front seat/ 5 stars back seat in a side crash. If side curtain airbags change that to 5 stars all the way around, as I think it will, then that makes the Chrysler 300 with protection group (along with the Pacifica, which also achieved those ratings) in all probability the SAFEST CAR EVER BUILT! Look over the ratings of the other models for 5 stars all
around - I don't think you will find it.
