Hi all,

New here. Hope I am posting in the right area.
I have an 2006 Chrysler 300 and lost one of the keys.
I bought a used key on ebay but the dealership said that because the key was "already programmed" they cannot program it for my car.
Is this for real ? you cannot get a used key, you have to buy a brand new one? any advice ?
(Dealerships here are asking $180 + $ 40 to program the key :thinking

I'm not sure about the 'used' key. This tutorial might not work because it has been programmed but to another vehicle. This information is from the LXF.

You need TWO keys that are already programmed for your car to program
a third one, otherwise your screwed, and you will have to go to the dealer
for a new one.

If you already lost one, you are out of luck, and just basically bought a
nice paper weight off of e-bay.

This is why alot of people get a third key while they still have their original
two keys that came with the car, so that they have a spare.
