I thought that I made up my mind on a 300c but one of my buddys who happens to be a nissan fan suggested I check out the 05 infiniti g35. I looked on the web site and the features look nice like reclining rear seats, Intelligent Key,Entry/exit assist etc.. and I like the interior looks but the exterior looks are forgetable compared to the 300c. Have any of you ever owned a infiniti and if so what was your experience with the car? Whats everyones opinon on this

Well it depends on what you really want. G35 is a much sportier car. Its more sleeker than the 300C and not as heavy (G35 3500 lbs, 300C 4000 lbs). But the 300C is much more spacious especially the back. Plus its got the MDS. And then there's the big thing with the looks. That's a huge thing with the 300, its exterior is one hell of a head turning design.

Also, the 300 has won what over 20 awards, I don't think i've read of the G35 winning any.

In the end it depends on what you like and want.

I had a similar decision to make. I have a nissan maxima now and it is great. the g35 is a great car, awesome fit and finish. If you want a big fast car, the 300c is the way to go. if you need all wheel drive the g35X is a good alternative. At the end of the day it comes down to what you prefer. Rice Power or Pure American Horsepower! Enough said.

I had the same decision, it is tough because they both are great cars. I assume you mean the two door coupe, the 4 door does not have the great looks, IMO. For me, it just came down to the size, feel and room of the C. My size is 6'1, 220 lbs, so those back seats did not really do much for me. I drove both, and I must say I know I made the right choice. I have the lava red and even now, this car draws so many wonderful comments. I look at the coupe now without regrets knowing I made a great choice...

Well now... I don't know if these two are comparable cars. A light V6 Japanese econo car v. a big hulking American V8 hot rod?

You mentioned a couple of things that I felt were strange... Intelegent key? what about the Chrysler ket? Our keys perform the exact same function.

Entry Exit assist? Ditto on the 300C. Interior is bland at best, all plstic and aluminum painted plastic in the Nissan.

Plus, 300C will EAT G35 ALIVE.. on the freeway, off the line, anywhere, anytime. I raced against my frriend's G35 coupe and it was not even close.

Me three.

G35 sedan was on my short-list.
I was looking for a sedan, with speed, and in the $35k range.
Front seats also had to be comfortable for my wifes bad back.

The reason I picked C.
300C was much faster.
C was bigger and roomier.
Front seats were very comfortable.
I didn't like the sales lady.
G35 trunk was way too small.
I didn't like the placement/configuration of the G35 dual exhaust pipes.
The G35 has the duals on one side. I like dual exhausts split.
They should have split the sedan exhausts the same as the coupe.
But I like steak well done and you might like it medium rare.
Cars are all about personal taste, and afford-ability.

G35 was on my list when looking at the 300c. Then I went and drove one. The drivetrain on my sister's 1996 Altima was tighter....

I am not a fan after driving it. Go test drive both and decide then. The 300c is a much better value.

First, to slk not exactly. The g's intel key allows you to start and I believe drive the car w/o putting the key into the ign. as long as the key is within the proper distance.

I agree with the others.
Once you put all the options in the g, it is more than the C.
I believe it has maybe 2 options that the C doesn't have
(the ones you mentioned)
it is a nice car overall but the power of the C is what sold me.

Good luck

I actually traded in my Infiniti I30 for my 300C. I test drove the G35 and was about to buy it until I test drove the 300C. After you test drive both the decision will be easy. Both cars a sweet.

Im going to go ahead and test drive both but I like the size of the c, I currently drive a expedition and am used to driving larger cars so thats a factor that and the 280 hp v6 verses the 340 hp v8 hemi :D Im just wondering if the fit and finish on the g35 would be alot better than the c

No contest for me since I already have my 'vette on the sporty side.. 2 totally different cars. I would suggest you rent each car for a weekend, much better than a short test drive. Then make your decision based on your own likes, dislikes and experience.

I was considering an FX45 just b4 the 300's were released. Thankfully, I went to the LA auto show last year and the rest is history with no regrets whatsoever, including no boredom 9 months later. Infiniti has some cool tech stuff and the FX45 was really fun to drive, but could not compare to the 300C in power, driveability, comfort or looks.

Of course you can imagine what type of response you'll get here on this forum... be sure to try the Infiniti forums for balance: www.nicoclub.com

I wish you luck with your decision!

You obviuosly asked the wrong (right) crowd. As one would expect we are for the 300C. As mentioned ask both sides. Bottom line is if you want more room, more power and torque, and cutting edge looks go for the 300C. I test drove the G35 a number of times. It is very quick, braking is excellent, and handling is very good. It was just to overall small for me and I felt the inside looked a little cheap (this was last year).

Well my girl has a 04 G-35. It's a nice car and all, but it's no hemi.. I would always drive the G until I got the C. After driving the 300 I can't drive the G anymore. It just feels too small. The seats, steering wheel, etc are just too small. IMO, the G's are for chicks.. Hemi baby.. :)

Are you going to be running the switchbacks up the Rockies or the American hi/byways?
G35 for the former - 300C for the latter.
True V8 powered comfort.
Did I mention the 390 ft/lbs of torque?

Was thinking of buying the g35 sport coupe until my wife and I sat in one and, with winter coats on, found our shoulders touching. Much too small for my needs, plus no trunk space to speak of. The FX was my next choice until I saw the 300c, no contest from that point on.
P.S. They are all great cars, just not for my needs. Did I mention 390 foot pounds of torque!!!!!!!

Infiniti makes a nice car.

I just sold a G20 that had 148k miles with only some transmission work to speak of.

I can only hope the 300c lasts as long.

But, while I liked the infiniti, I LOVE THE 300C!

I disagree. I can make most people sick on Topanga canyon above Malibu in my 300c. My brother in law begged me to slow down because he was getting motion sickness (he's a wuss btw) :D I have taken the new Nissan 300Z for all its worth, in turns, on straight aways anywhere. On a tight road racing track would be a bit different. On the streets, they stand no chance unless supercharged or perhaps above 120mph ;) I've had numerous kills with G35s and Nissan Zs, a few of them tricked out, but obviously not supercharged...

A G35 taking a turn at 30mph where I have to slow down to 20mph stands no chance coming out of the corner. Those motors lack low end grunt, this was the thing I noticed most during my test drives.
