Resume Speed, where is this info from? Do you work for DCX or a dealer? I spoke to someone via email from brampton and they said they just built 06 srt 8s, about 10 them and only 1 had a kicker because it was for a DC rep. All the others had the base stereo. No BA7. Let me know if you have any more info.....

Don't work for DCX or dealer, just have some good contacts in the biz. The SRT I listed shows that it was sold to a dealer in Highland Park, Michigan. The build sequence is #112447.

My understanding is that there was only enough parts to build a limited number of the Kicker SRT-8's. When the limited supply ran out, orders went into standby status. Could be wrong though, just going by what the Dealer told me about my Silver SRT-8.

It's definitely going to a dealer and not a DCX rep, and it's not a FF program or pilot vehicle. I PM'd you some more details.

I noticed a difference between option RC5-above and RC7- on my order form RC7- 7 High Performance Kicker Spkrs w/ Subwoofer. Anybody know the difference??? Are there 2 kicker systems?!! Thank you,Johnny G

FWIW now (for me, anyway), on my order sheet it says 'RC5 - 7 High Perf Kicker spkrs w/subwoofer'. If dates matter, mine was ordered on 2/1.

I don't think either of them holds much weight though.

There is only 1 Kicker option, (RC5). The RC7 system is the Boston Acoustic system, which used to be the upgraded stereo option. You need to ask your dealer for an updated Von/order sheet that shows your car's options as well as the build status. Most likely there have been changes to your options as it relates to your stereo upgrade. Good luck.

Thanks for the info,I didn't know that they changed the codes,my paperwork had RC-7 on it describing the 7 speaker kicker system next to the code!!

i just called my dealer and tried to find out what system is being put into my car he says i have opt#1 and opt#2 and he says it has 6 cd changer bluetooth..i said is it comming with the upgraded kicker system he siad it didnt say.but he also said that he was looking at option sheet and it didnt even have the kicker option aval. he also said the only thing that i didnt get was the rear seat dvd..man i really hate not knowing what iam getting...1 good thing my srt is in painting now and that was backed up by dc so shouldnt be much longer till i find out...anyone have any thoughts on what iam gonna get?

You are going to get the BA6 speaker Boston system. No subwoofer. It is the system that comes on the touring edition. It is not the BA7 upgraded Boston system. Let us know when you get the car. Good luck.

man i hope not!!!but if so ill get a custom box for that spare tire space and throw a sub init and change the speakers out, add 2 amps and...waaalaaa..problem solved

Can someone describe the BA6 speaker configuration? e.g Number and location of mid-ranges their size (6.5"?) same for the tweeters, coax or separate components? I'm w/ 4Herb - the upgrade sounds more and more like the way to go - at least for those of us w/ the deleted BA7, that still wnat the premium sound.

I received the following in an e-manil from a staff member at Kicker on Monday 4/11/05

"The Kicker option has been approve for launch for the 300. It is estimated that it will start building in late May. It was assumed that there would be some cars ordered with out the option and they would build first, as it turns out most all of the cars were ordeded with the Kicker system (over 90%). The 06 SRT 8 just started on the line last week...We ship parts based on the plant schedule and have no control over when cars are built with specific options. The final testing and PER is scheduled for week after next and then the option will be released for full production. I hope this information is helpful.

Seems to keep pointing to late May early June builds.
