I thought some of you might be interested to see where the majority of the SRT-8 allocations have gone so far, to dealers in which States and Provinces. This could be helpful for those still searching for a vehicle, as far as knowing which markets in North America are receiving the most vehicles.

The stats below represent data from more than 7,000 vehicles. Please keep in mind that this data is based on the majority of, but NOT all of the SRT-8 300C vehicles manufactured to date. Totals for any or all of the States can and will change, some perhaps dramatically, as more vehicles roll off the line.

You da man! Wonderful data. Thanks! By my count you show 195 2005's for the Us and Canada combined. Do you think you're still missing some data from 2005, or are the numbers slightly lower than initially thought?

I still have 210 listed for 2005, what is not shown on the list above are vehicles that went to DCX exec's or ones that were used for testing...

Some interesting notes on distribution:

Canada 30 million people: 92 cars
USA 296 million people: 403 cars

10 times the people, but only slightly more than 4 times the cars.

Canada even got more cars than California, which many people associate with being a car-conscious state, even though California has slightly more people. (31 million vs. 30 million).

Indiana got one car for every 2 million people so far.
Ontario got one car for every 315,000 people so far.

I wonder if DCX didn't want to be sure to put a lot of cars in the hands of people near the Brampton Assembly Plant to reward the locals who build them?

I'm just surprised because stereotypically, one would think that the U.S. would get more than its fair share of the hottest cars. In reality, Ontario got the best per capita allocation so far.

ResumeSpeed, thanks for the great info.

JMatt, I was surprised to see the Canada/US ratio. That will probably change in favour of the US, over time, but there is one explanation that I can think of.

At the turn of the century (the 21st), DCX Canada began a major "purge" of its dealer network. They combined Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge together & dropped Plymouth altogether. In the process they chopped out dealers with low CSI and put meaning into the 5 Star concept.

Since DCX cannot meet dealer demand for the SRT-8, and the market is composed of knowledgeable car nuts, the cars are going to their dealers with the better CSI numbers.

Since I have been on this forum, I have become convinced that there is a really high per centage of DCX dealers in the US with poorly trained service departments and bad attitudes.

This might explain part of the descrepancy in distribution numbers.

damn there are 51 of them in florida and i havent seen one yet. i am dying to check one out
I thought the same thing when I read the numbers. I saw two of them at the SRT Experience in Daytona and Dawsongrant98 said that when he attended the next day there were two SRT8’s (including his own).

Florida is a large state with 15+ million residents- so I suppose those few SRT8’s could easily blend in. :)

Ever heard of DCX giving guidance to dealers on what the MSRP mark up should be on the SRT8?
By State (or Federal?) laws dealers are absolutely prohibited from requiring dealers to sell a vehicle at a particular price. The MSRP is the only "guidance" dealers have. In fact, and I quote from a very high source at DCX, "We strongly discourage any and all of our dealers to sell our vehicles above MSRP..."

there is an "used" 05 @ hollywood chrysler. thats not to far from u.

potamkin chrysler has a black 06 with rear video also. asking 10k over.

Eddie Accardi Chrysler in Pompano Beach (supposedly) had six (3 black and 3 silver) on his lot last Fri. Didn't see them for myself but a very close friend of mine was standing next to them and sent me a pic on my camera phone. They all apeared to be 8's and four were sold. Two silver cars might be left. Obviously they were all 06's.
