Hi forum members, I have a question. About a year ago I got my wife a 300C Hemi which she loves. I would like to get her the higher HP SRT. When I look at the engine specs the higher torque of the SRT is 420 at 4800 rpm vs 390 at 4000 rpm for the 300C. Also the higher HP of the SRT is 425 at 6200 rpm vs 340 for the 300C at 5000 rpm. From this it is not clear to me that the SRT will feel any faster except at the highest rpm ranges. From these specs it is not clear the SRT has higher torque and HP below 400 rpm.

What are your experiences? Are dyno plots available? What are the 0-60 and 1/4 times? What about the ride quality and noise level?

By the way, I drive a supercharged Caddy cts-v, 550 hp, and it burns me up. She kills me at stoplights. By the time I get the tires hooked up she has me by 3 car lenghts.

Thanks for your help. Joe Lakowicz.

Well I've got the 300C and my Dad has the SRT8. As you know the 300C is no slouch and I love it , and yes I understand why you are questioning if it really feels faster due to the different RPM's it makes peak power at.... but trust me, The SRT8 feels faster....much faster. The ride is definitely firmer and stiffer, but in my opinion, not harsh. That would be the only down side and it's purely a subjective thing. I happen to like the SRT8's firm ride. Steering is quicker also, and braking....well you gotta experience it. There are much documented problems with brake dust, rotor grooving , and squeeking which will hopefully be solved with new pads that are supposed to be available after December 15.

Wife drove the SRT8

Well I got the wife to drive an 06 SRT8. She loved the power and handling, but she still likes her silver 300C hemi better. She didn't like the blue-grey color, I didn't like that color either, and she thought the outside looked too plain. Is there a why to brighten up the outside of the SRT8? I would like to get her this car but I don't blame her is thinking it didn't look good in that color without a little more trim. Thanks
