The other thing to think of is that in a real world situation, you might not get the same 0-60 or 1/4 mile time as they post or porfessionals get.
With an automatic in the 300C it's much easier to get close to those times. When you get in a WRX or even an STi, they are manual trannys and from the friends who have them, they are very quick, but I know they can't drive them. Hell, I can't either. Maybe after some training or a ton of practice, you might get close.
But in a real world contest, I just push my foot to the floor, they are shifting at the wrong places. Makes a real world street competition between novices much closer.
But I agree, with a good driver behind the wheel, those WRX's would be even if not faster.
But who wants to spend all that money for no torque and ride around in a thin sardine can?
And if you really want to smoke a WRX STi, or a 300, just spend the $7K and buy any cheap sport bike. Most of those 0-60 times are in the 3.0 second range or better.
