Hello Gang,

I just wanted all of my fellow V6 (2.7 and 3.5) LX owners know that I received notification from Chrysler via the website about a recall that involves the 42RLE transmission in the V6 equipped 300, Magnums, and Chargers. I believe the Jeep Liberty also shares the same transmissions as our cars as well. Check the Chrysler website to see if your car is involved with the recall. (www.chrysler.com) Go under "Owner Services" and click on "Recall" information. Input the last 8 digits of the VIN and the results should appear.

I believe there are postings about this on the boards already, but I wanted to alert the group that the notification is starting to be sent out to the owners of the affected vehicles.

Hope this gives a "Heads Up to those who need the information. I plan on calling my dealer tomorrow to set up the service visit to have the recall work done.

Sincerely yours,

Hello Gang,

Just to keep everyone updated. I have some information regarding the recall from my local dealer. I also would like to alert the group that the link is now active on the DC website that gives out the same notification that DC is sending out in the mail. I contacted DCX Customer Assistance and they had told me that the notification is starting to roll out. The recall affects about 253,000 vehicles. The affected vehicles are as follows:

05-06 Jeep Wrangler (TJ)
05-06 Dodge Durango (HB)
05-06 Jeep Liberty (KJ)
05-06 Dodge Dakota (ND)
05-06 300 and Magnum (LX)
2006 Charger (LX)

The repair work should take 1 1/2 hours to complete. Hope this helps out my fellow V6 owners. Also, if anyone here on the forums know anyone who owns any of the other models mentioned, point out the link and the site.

Sincerely yours,

Brian T. Carotenuto
