500 rwhp GSM Supercharger for 5.7 300C

I am about to purchse the GSM superchager kit with the big boost option which is supposed to be good for 500 rwhp. I am planning on having the guys at GSM do the install and tuning for me. I have been searching the forum but have'nt seen many posts about the 500hp kit installed. Any input you have good or bad will be greatly appreciated. :hump:

Fasten seat belt. Have fun!

You're the pioneer here, shane, TMK. We'll be watching with keen interest and great anticipation.

All the best. :)

What about the people with the 6lb kit. How do you like it and are you thinking about going to the 8-10lb kit in the future. I am planning on making the purchase next week so if anybody has anything they would like to say now is the time.

Just went to GSMotorsports to discuss the supercharger with the big boost kit. The guys down there were very helpful and answered all my questions.

I havent seen one myself. I have seen some dynos for the 6lb kit and see it never reached the 6lb mark. I think you need to make sure they tune it not just install and see if it works. There is a lot of lost power in bad tuning. And be sure you have a solid dyno sheet to show you the perfect afr for the engine which Im going to say 11.5-11.8 which would be well tuned. Have fun and make sure to take a video camera on your night out.

Thanks for the tip. I am definitly going to have them do the install and tuning. funny you should mention the video camera. I am trying to find a good deal on a small dash camera. I think I will create a thread to see if anybody knows of any inexpensive but good ones. I am sure alot of people will want to see some video.

What do they want for the GSM installed? $$$
I believe it was $1200.00 which included installation and tuning only. These are the labor prices only. I would defnintly contact them regarding pricing.

Is that $1200 for the install alone? Or $12K total installed for the complete blower kit with big boost option? :) Or $1200 for the big boost kit on top of the nlower kit?
From what I remeber it was $1200 to have the supercharger installed with the big boost kit and tuning. I would contact them about pricing though since these prices were included in my total package. If you already have the supercharger and just want the big boost kit added with tuning it may be less. The $1200 is only for installation and tuning this does not include any parts.

Done Deal.

Well its a done deal now. I just purchased the GSM supercharger with the big boost kit good for about 500 rwhp. I have a scheduled installation date of 12-19-05. I am not sure what the rwhp will be since I have the borla exhaust. I also have a stage II jetchip, but I called Jetchip and they said not to use the jetchip with the supercharger. Hopefully I will be able to post a Dyno sheet sometime around the 22nd if everything goes well with the installation and there are no delays.

has GSM figured out how to tune/reprogram the computer to give it enough fuel under boost? Or are they still using the piggyback injectors to get around that.....

I would really like to put a supercharger on my "C" but I think I'd rather wait till someone really has the tuning rather than just 'go around' the computer....does anyone know?

tuning software

I have been in contact with most popular tuner suppliers and they have all indicated that no real software is available for SRT8 vehicle. Many comments have been made about "imminent" 5.7 Hemi handheld tuners. Superchips specifically said January 06 would be a likely date.

I am not a fan of band-aid fuel enrichment but it will work with a careful set up. Always get better and safer results with a system that interfaces with the PCM.

These engines are expensive. Hope you all have deep pockets. But thanks for doing our R&D. We need pioneers!

Indeed we do. And I'm most appreciative of the daring few who have stepped up to the opportunity while it's still in its infancy.
Kudos to all who dare...

And specifically, here, to shane. :)

You shouldn't need the Jet chip anymore anyway. Most superchargers come with a program or chip to handle the mangement of the engine. I will say onething, "TUNING IS EVERYTHING". Becareful with the tune. Power is not what blows an engine, bad tuning is what blows an engine.

I am not sure about this one. I am having it installed by the guys at GS Motorsports so I am really confident that it will get done right. If I wasn't having them do the install then I probably wouldn't have gone with the big boost option. I wouldn’t feel comfortable having myself or anybody other than GS Motorsports do the tuning for the big boost kit.

I dropped my car of with GSMotorsports this morning. My car should have the SC with big boost kit installed and ready by Thursday. I will let you all know how it turns out.

I will be attending the Jan 14 Meet and greet if anybody want to check it out. Or if you live in the Orange County area and want to check it out let me know.
