I am posting this so that others may think twice about doing what I did.

Cost of Removal of Speed Limiters $1500
Cost of Gas from Albuquerque to Sacramento $560
Cost of Ticket doing 143 in a 70 $1300
Cost of Ticket 2 doing 143 in a 70 $1300
Airfare (2) to Court appearance $530
Hotel for night for Court appearance $80
Car rental for court appearance $175
Loss of Good driver discount for 3 years $900
Loss on Sale** of 1 300C (2500 under kelly) $2500
**(Only way my insurance co would still cover me)

As a couple of you know I paid a Mercedes tech to remove my limiter switches. My best friend and I drove from Albuquerque to Sacramento, on the way we got pulled over (Clocked from the air). Above is the outcome.

They made you sell the car to cover you? BTW, did you notice white lines on the ground in the area where you were VASCAR'd? Tips to speeders (picked up from cops and seasoned speeders):
buy a Valentine 1
buy a blinder m-40 extreme
when you see white lines painted across the highway, slow down
don't speed in CA, NY, NJ, DE, VT or CT.
BTW, I don't see lawyer's fees listed? Did you decide not to get one?

I made the gesture in order to keep my insurance and license. Judge let me keep my license. Didnt notice any lines and we had both escortS2 and v1...they didnt pick up anything. I consulted my lawyer but this a open and shut ...they also had video from the cop cars waiting for us...I now drive the limit everywhere.

Where were you when you got pulled over? Was it during day or night?

Ya know...the S2 will interfere with the V1 if they are close to each other (in the same car). The S2 is worthless if you have a V1 anyways. But yeah, that won't do anything against VASCAR. Was this lawyer not a traffic lawyer? Open and shut means nothing in traffic court (well, maybe it does in CA I'm not sure). Here in NC, a well connected lawyer gets you off with his connections or prayer of judgement combined with his connections.

There's no airborne VASCAR during the night. Now land VASCAR (though I could stand corrected...this is CA, they might be using night vision goggles), that's another story, and IMHO even worse since it doesn't require there to be white lines painted on the ground.

FYI to all, always find a lawyer that works with traffic cases. They know things, they know the courts, and they talk to each other. If one finds a slick way to get the client off, they let the others know. Don't use your company, corporate, real estate, or whoever else you have on retainer, remember, you pay them for what they know, and a traffic lawyer knows traffic court.

Maybe I should give you my user name "And the watchman told, for the driving is like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi, for he driveth furiously". 143 in the C is plain ballsy, I hope the steering settles at those speeds, I am a little shaky in this car above 90. I routinely cruised in my 87 300E comfortably at 90+ at times up to 125+ with total confidence. My story is not so interesting but I now I do the limit too, 36 in a 25 cost me $90, first ticket in 18 years. I failed to nail the brakes, V1 picked up the laser and I pussy footed the brake pedal, he got me on the second hit and I would have slowed enough, cop told me they were only ticketing 10mph over.

Radar/laser detectors are useless. Got pulled over once w/laser, once again getting paced.

Drove right past a trooper pointing his gun at me. Did my V1 pick up anything? Nope. Technology has changed. Just gotta go speed limit (or no more than 10 over).
