My first contribution to the forum :)
Hopefully i get it all right.
You will need some mechanical aptitude and solder skills to complete this mod.

I just bought this 06 300 touring a couple weeks ago and only 2 of the bulbs worked in the ac heater control unit so i pulled it out only to see the bulbs are not user serviceable/replaceable :( So i decided to solder in a set of leds. I assume theres a knowledge base somewhere to tell u how to remove the unit from the center bezel, theres only 4 screws on the back side holding it . Once you get it out to separate the housing you need to turn all the knobs counter clockwise far as they will go to remove them.

Then separate the tabs (x8) with a flathead to pull unit apart.

Once the board is out u can see the stock leds are soldered to the board, for me they were very easy to remove just twist em at the base and the pop right off.

Ok, i you will need 5 leds of youre color choice, i went with blue. When you get them one prong will be slightly longer than the other, that is the pos+. On the board its marked kinda where the solder points are like pl1/2/3/4/& 5. I circled in red where they go also i marked with a silver marker (i shouldve used red) a dot at the pos+ at where you need to solder the pos+ from the led.

When you solder the bulbs in they need to be about the same height as the stock bulbs, so just do a side to side comparison with the old bulb and the led and make a bend in the prongs of the led to achieve the correct height, before i bent the prongs out i made an additional little bend at the end of the pos+ prong as to make sure i soldered it into the right spot on the board, youll see it in the next pic. Then solder them in one at a time.

After the second bulb you solder in you can test to make sure its soldered in correctly with a 9v battery, just touch the pos and neg of the led prongs the the plus and neg on the batt and both leds should light up, all 5 leds are connected kinda in parallel to each other so even after you soldered all 5 leds in the should all light up together.
And then clip off the excess of the prongs from the solder points and reassemble unit and bada boom ur done !

There are a couple overtly bright spots like in the 78, i suppose i couple pull unit back apart and perhaps use a black marker and cover half of the top of that particular led to dim it a bit or something like that but it really doesnt bother me much so i will leave it as is for now.
