About an hour ago I was with my 15 year old daughter on my way home.
I was sitting at a stoplight and the light turned green. I started into the intersection and looked to my left. There he was, a van swirved from the slow lane to the fast lane and blew the light.
He took my C out and then side-swiped a Toyota and then head-first into a Navigator.
My daughter is fine, but I am devistated.
My Sema dreams are over. My C is in bad shape. My mental state is just sad.
This was to be my month. Road and Track, Mobile Electronics, a music video and Sema.
Now...it's all over.

Wes, I feel sick to my stomach for you. I can't imagine how you feel. It may sound trite now, but the best thing is that you and your daughter are alive and well. She gets to live the rest of her life and your talent persists.

I truly am sorry though.

So very saddened to hear of the damage to your sweet ride, wes, but am thanking the Good Lord you and daughter weren't physically injured. :newangel:

Missing SEMA and all is a huge disappointment, but you'll re-build better than ever, and might even get some enjoyment in doing it.

Hang in there.

Wes,

Cars can be replaced, money can be made back but a life is only there once. Hope you and your daughter are fine, I hope that guy that caused the accident gets put behind bars, people like that don't belong on the road.

As for Sema, well things always happen at the wrong time but if not this year, I'm sure you'll take it next year.

Wes, sorry to hear about the car. but like others have said the car can be fixed. the most important thing is you and your daughter are ok. its crazy the way life is sometimes. we all know how much time and effort you have put into your car, but with your talent you can make it even better. a lost life is something that cant be fixed. all my prayers go out for you and your family

Wes, my friend, I just don't know what to say... all the right and meaningful things have been said by those before me, but I have to try cuz I hurt for you:

300Lover Linda says you are a doer, a magician, a wizard, a genius.
You will have your car back on the road and better than ever soon...

Nurse Linda says hug your wife, hug your kids, and do whatever relaxes you most to keep your B/P down and keep the strain of this stress off your heart.
Do NOT let this land you in the hospital again...

Believer Linda says I believe things happen for a reason and that when God closes a door, he opens a window so some good will come out of it.
Even when things have seemed darkest for me, this has proven true eventually, and though it may not seem so now, I trust it will for you as well...

If I could reach through your monitor, take away your disappointment, and hug you... I would, and I know our fellow members would join me :grouphug:

Wes, what Linda and everyone else has said.

Thank the Lord you looked over. It may have been a lot worse.

What's important is that your precious daughter came out okay.

And so did you.

For the moment, all is well.

The future will take care of itself.

Keep the faith, my friend.

Wes,

I am just glad we didn't find out about this in the news. I am glad you and your daughter are safe. The car can be repaired, just needs a touch up with a face lift.

Can it be salvaged before SEMA? I have a front end facia I could donate from my Silver SRT-8. The Dealer put their License plate frame on it and had to replace the whole front end because I had specifically requested they NOT put anything on the front end of the car. Anyway let me know. Perhaps a grill can be found and the front bumper fixed. Was there any damage to the car other than the front bumper? What can we do to help?

Wes, Sorry about the bad news, and thank The Lord your daughter, as well as you are safe! Metal can be replaced, but not human lives. Hey look at it this way,you could come back and be the first to make over a super custom srt-8.I always loved the way you set your car up,and I could only imagine what an srt-8 version would look like. Either way it really sucks, but it could have been soo much worse. :wink1:

Wes I am sorry to hear this news but overjoyed that you and your daughter are OK thank God ("For he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways" Ps. 91:11), as one who had very close calls with his two youngest children this Summer I believe that and no matter what happens otherwise, you have your daughter and your life without physical injury. Godspeed my friend, may the mental trauma pass soon.

I once watched a woman die this way. First in line at a red light at a major intersection, two lanes to the right of me, she pulled out as our light turned green. It was broad daylight, bright and sunny. The road was clear, flat, and wide. Somewhere, birds were chirping. It wasn't an onimous kind of day.

A couple of seconds later, some guy comes hurtling through his red light on the left, and T-bones her car right in the ribs. He crumpled up her car and smacked it completely off the road. Her limp body bounced around inside, then her head lolled out through the driver's window. I didn't stay for the whole thing, but I'm pretty sure they never revived her. I'm not trying to be unsympathetic or particularly graphic. I'm just trying to add a little perspective. I feel for you but dude, you just got your car's nose broken. I hope you're insured. You'll be alright.

(A few years later some kid tried to do the same thing to me on my motorcycle. I saw him coming and decided green wouldn't be my colour that day. Dumb kid missed the cop stopped right behind me, too.

Stoplights are evil. They make drivers dumb and trusting. You looked. You're gonna be OK.)
