Just serviced Shropshire Lad's CRuD and on his list was a heavy knocking,so having checked all the stuff I replaced on it last year which turned out still good,I banged the ARB with the side of my fist and it gave out a dull ring,same the other side,so with a bit of sheet steel hanging around I formed it around the bush to make it tighter,gave it another thump and the sound had changed to a dead sound,test drove it and all was quiet,I've replaced the packing with new bushes from Fiat and all is good,just letting you know a quick way of testing your ARB bushes for free

I've replaced so many this year, I've started a collection


Interesting that the dealer bushes are so soft and the aftermarket ones are much harder and cheaper!

I have also noticed on some cars that the rings on the ARB have moved, allowing the bar to move sideways in the mounts
