Are replacement dashes out in the market?

Not by the dealer. But I mean are other companies making them for the 300? So that you can change the dash yourself. I don't think I need to explain why.

The dash is one huge piece. It requires removal of the steering column and numerous other parts for installation.

The dealer had to replace mine. What happened?
What happened, or are you just not happy with the material and feel of current one?
Maybe I used the wrong terminology. I mean the part with all the meters, including the odemeter.

I know on other cars people buy a extra one where they put that in and drive so their original doesn't rack up the miles too quickly.

Ah, you mean gauge cluster...

not sure how 'easy' it might be...the way this car is put together with computers, modules, etc. this could not be feasible without programming from the dealer.
Well yea, nowadays pretty much all cars have computers which you can't fool. But unless you don't do something crazy and try to take warranty, I don't think the dealer would look into the computer.

I am not talking about looking into a computer...I am talking about needing programming just to get the cluster to work.
oh... sorry. Now that would suck, I know on my cousin's Escalade all that is needed is to connect the new one.

Maybe having all these powerful computers in cars has some bad things :p

Yeah, not quite the 'plug and play' of the old days!! Speedo cable, a couple wires and done!
