Australians - The Greatest Olympians per Capita
At the moment the Chinese are running away with a huge swag of Gold Medals but Australia is currently do very well on a per capita basis .
Of the countries with the most medals here is the breakdown.
Australia - 1 Gold Medal per every 2.2 million people
UK- 1 Gold Medal per every 3.6 million people
Korea - 1 Gold Medal per every 4.35 million people
Germany - 1 Gold Medal per every 9.1 million people
USA - 1 Gold Medal per every 15.8 million people (double that if Phelps retires)
Canada - 1 Gold Medal per every 16.95 million people
China - 1 Gold Medal per every 37 million people
So now you see why the world gets more bang for their buck out of Aussies!
